I've had my Galaxy S10 for a few days now and here are some early impressions:

I love almost everything about it, except these these things:

  • I miss the notification LED. This is the biggest complaint i got about the S10. Who thought it would be a good idea to remove it? I really hope Samsung adds an option to have an on-screen notification light in the future, because right now I have to constantly check my phone if I got a message rather than just glance over it.
  • The power button is a little bit too high up for me, but this is a rather minor inconvenience since I just unlock it directly with the fingerprint scanner rather than turn the screen on first.
  • The fingerprint scanner is not quite as accurate and fast as I would have liked. Apparently it gets better if I take the screen protector off, but I'll keep it on for the time being.
  • It comes with some really annoying bloat, such as Facebook, LinkedIn and OneDrive. To be fair, it can be disabled, but I would rather it didn't come on the phone at all.

Other than that, super pleased with the phone. Compared to my Galaxy S7 it's:

  • Much faster with a far better UI.
  • The cameras are phenomenal.
  • The speaker is much louder, cleaner sounding and stereo with decent separation between the two.
  • Battery life is a lot better (although that might just be my S7 being old).
  • Feels really solid and premium. It has a nice heft to it in the right places, despite being very light.

On a nearly 1k USD phone?! Now I'm feeling a bit let down :( I didn't know about that part...
