    First thing, yes, you likely would need to get a BIOS update to run that CPU. What you've read is correct, but the board may have been updated.
    Second thing, please don't go with AMD processors at least until they release Zen next year.
     
    What are you wanting to do with this build and what is your budget? I'm assuming you're in the mainland UK.
