  1. I'm looking for the cheapest (good qaulity) Molex power cord for a Fractal Design Ion power supply. Just looking for a few extra for my server. Figured I could get some custom made, but seems unnecessary money spent. https://www.fractal-design.com/products/power-supplies/ion/ion-platinum-660w/black/
  2. I previously had a 3700x in a MSI x570 Wifi edge with a stock Wraith Cooler in a Corsair 220T with temps that seemed fairly normal, I believe high 30's to low 40's. Nothing fancy about the build. I changed the motherboard for a GIGABYTE X570 AORUS XTREME, CPU cooler for a NZXT Kraken Z73, and the case to an o11 Dynamic XL, with every fan slot filled on a slow setting. Now the CPU temps read between high 30's average 40's, up to 55 when just watching YouTube videos. And mid 70's during gaming. GPU tends to stay around 40's when just watching YouTube. But this seems extremely high for a 360 rad. I tried changing the thermal paste to some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut I bought and planned to use, and it seems to of helped. I do plan to change all the fans, currently some cheep "Pressured Optimized" branded Thermaltake fans I had laying around, to some Noctua NF-F12's. But I don't expect this to be a huge change to thermals. Unless the older fans are just really bad. Wondering if this is a normal idle-(ish) temp for this cooler due to the screen. The PC seems stable (Other than a weird issue that's happened twice where YouTube videos randomly started skipping like a record (last second infinitely repeats including audio) and then clicking anything anywhere won't work. Basically freezing. But the temps never seem to get extreme. edit: also to add, there is no overclocking on the cpu. The GPU is set to the highest power limit. GPU is a RTX 2070. Also the RAM was changed from Corsair Vengeance RGB to Trident Z Neo. Not that either of those changes could effect anything, that I would think.
  3. I'm not able to do anything if it is plugged in, it is completely frozen at the splash screen. Eventually I'll try a different drive and also try the "bad" drive in another pc.
  4. I have a desktop that has been working fine for a while. I recently put a 3tb Seagate hdd that was in another computer into it. It was formatted for raid but never actually used for the raid. I had to clean it in cmd, then reformat it. It worked fine and I was able to transfer stuff to it fine. I then flashed a bios on my two 970's to get a silent fan profile, which went fine. But after my bios hangs on the splash screen and no keys or anything effect anything, I can't enter setup or anything. If I unplug the drive, the computer boots fine. And if I plug the drive in when window's is loaded it reads the drive, I am able to transfer to it and everything is fine. Could the drive just be dead or should I attempt to update or reset my bios?
  5. I bought a refurbished MSI GE62 around December from an Amazon seller. I did open it up to change the hdd to a ssd I had laying around so the factory void sticker is broken. However lately I started to notice a few stuck pixels. Then a few more dead pixels. Then a black vertical striped line. Around the top there's some more dead pixels that look like a small galaxy. And today another vertical stripe appeared, but this time blue. I would try to send an rma request and see if they'd take it but there rma website has no option for laptops. Is it stuck this way or would they possibly take an rma? I've tried massaging the screen and it works in some areas. But not all. And Jscreenfix isn't working at all so far. In fact massaging the screen sometimes temporarily makes more dead pixels and even vertical stripes. I attached a crappy photo of the stripes below in the spoiler.
  6. While I was playing GTA V, my computer suddenly shut off. It would not turn back afterwards. I assumed it was the gpu, since its was used. But also i had the gpu led off. When I attempted to turn it back on the led was on. I bought another of the same modeling used thinking it would fix it but still nothing connection. Now i have dual 970s and now computer. I'm now thinking it's the psu, cpu or mothers. But I don't have time or extra components too test it. But i could borrow some if I have too. Specs: Cpu: fx8350 (bought used but asked for an rma) Cooler: nzxt kraken x61 Mobo: msi 970a krait edition Ram: 8gb of gskills I think? Gpu: Gigabyte g1 gaming 970 (bought used) Psu: corsair rm850 (bought used) Also, sorry for grammar, I'm on my phone currently.
  7. So I had to send my motherboard, a MSI 970a Krait. I accidentally left my IO Shield in the box, and of course, did not receive a IO Shield back. I tried sending an email to them, however I never got a response. I probably did not send an email to there correct address. Is there a "correct" email MSI would check for this case, or a system in there RMA service I missed, or just a place I can buy a new Shield?
  8. I recently set up a somewhat temporary subsonic server so my family can use it, and I stream. My previous method was using Musicbee, which I somewhat prefer more. However the comviencenc of streaming and syncing with my phone so far has me won over. I want to find a good Desktop/Web player that looks, functions, is easy to use, yet still has options and allows me to play my starred songs and add more star songs. Somewhat of a spotify client that works with subsonic or something similiar. So far I can't really seem to find any overall good players, they all seem to have an issue. If you happen to know a different server that is somewhat cheap and works better, then let me know. I rather not pay for plex, but if it works better I might.
  9. I was planing on taking my old case, An ENERMAX Ostrog GT, and modding it quite a bit. But Then I thought of making a case out of Lego's, after that news article a few days ago. I saw a few people have either made smaller form factor cases out of them, or cases made for "lesser" computers. I was thinking of making something that could compare to mid to higher end cases. With a basement at the bottom for the power supply and some drives, plenty of fan intake and outtake, and possibly a roof for a radiator. I started to lay out some plans and found a few issues... I found the melting point of Lego's are around 80 degrees Celsius. And some components could possible get near that easily. Should this only affect them if they are near the parts, like the gpu? Or would the parts holding the motherboard and parts under it be affected. And would extra airflow help this? Lego's are about 9.6mm, while most PC parts are in metric integers, would drilling into them be my best bet, or should parts like fans still mount fine. I found that fan mounting holes and Lego Technic holes are about the same, should this be fine? I'm having issues finding dimensions for parts like power supply's, larger air coolers/radiators, and a few other parts. Anyone think they can point me in the right dimensions. Would it be easier to use some metal pc case parts, like a motherboard tray and make most of it out of Lego's? TL:DR: Anyone have an experience in Lego computer cases they can share.
  10. I current have 3 dimms of 2GB ram at 1333mhz, so 6GB in total. I ordered 2 dimms of 4GB ram at 1866mhz. They are different brands, and my motherboard has 4 dimm slots. Would it be best to only have the new ram running at full speed, or is it possible and practical to have the new ram, and two of the older sticks in for 12 GB in total running at a slower speed? I mainly do gaming, web browsing, some web development, image editing and other styles of coding. The old ram is older Samsung ram that was left over from an old HP desktop, and the newer ram is G.SKILL Ripjaws X. Of course they are both DDR3 240 pin modules.
  11. I don't think the resolution really has to be that high, but I love those back buttons. Then against almost everything is better than my s3, which is still a great phone none the less.
  12. Dem speakers doe. and that metal and on screen buttons and stuff.
  13. I was able to install 64bit adobe programs, on windows 8, and I am certain windows 7 was 64bit, I am not physically near the computer today, but when I am able to, I can run a linux live cd to check. But I am 95% sure it is 64bit. Edit: Forgot to mention it is samsung ram I stole from a hp pavilion desktop. It is all the same ram.
  14. I purchased some parts to build a pc and used some older ones, including Gigabyte gtx 660 Rosewill 630-Watt PSU Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX motherboard Amd FX 4100 While using older parts I had, like a 1tb green hdd, a 500gb green hdd and 6gb of 1333mhz ram, split into 3 2gb sticks. According to both windows 7 ultimate 64bit and windows 8.1 pro 64bit. According to speccy, system property's there are 6gbs of ram, but only 3.6 are usable. I tried switching my sticks around and removing one. If I do so there is only 1.8 usable. I moved them around so it,s empty,2,2,2, giving the same effects. I check msconfig and tried settings it to max ram manually and unchecking the box. There are no updates for my bios, the max ram is 32gbs. Is there any solutions, is my board bad or is my ram bad?
