admin can you please move to motherboard troubleshooting i put it in wrong section -
I recently picked up a second hand z87 n-wifi. I am using a lga1150 i4-4440, corsair 500watt psu, crucial ballistic sport 8gb and no gpu. I have tried booting it and it just keeps boot looping before it posts if i have the cmos batter in. If i remove it it will take a second and boot to a 240gb boot drive i have windows 8.1 installed on. Initially i got windows installed and was able to use lan and wifi. I had to reinstall and since reinstalling i no longer have network connectivity. Its not the wifi or lan as it works with my main rig. I also cant get the integrated hdmi graphics working so i have to use the gtx 970 g1 gaming from my main rig to work on the rig. I thought some cpu pins were bent but after taking a closer look the slanted look is fine. All the hardware in the rig works fine, ive tested it, but the board has been giving me issues. I updated the bios to f6 and had the battery in at the time so it held the update. Now it will boot but may boot loop 1 or 2 times before it actually posts. Any ideas? This is a secondary rig, im not one for used hardware but i got the price down to $50 for the z87 so thats only reason i went with it. Im assuming i may need to alter some things, maybe change some bios settings as i have doubts on this board is totally gone. Any help is appreciated thanks

Should I mine? - have free electricity

amd gpu with intel cpu? the lga 1150 is an intel socket board. Worst case plan on using this rig for a gaming pc later on if the mining doesnt work out -

how much of a difference is intel and amd on litecoin? I already have a mitx z87 lga 1150 so dont really want to get a new board. Are litecoin good payouts since in that mini itx i have yet to get a gpu and cpu. my main build has the 4790 and gtx 970 but was thinking maybe an i3 or i5 for the z87 with a gtx 960 or something. Or should i just sell the board and go to a amd like you said? I have a fx-6300 laying around -

i am also curious about this topic, as being in college i dont pay for utilities on my campus so i was thinking of doing mining with a i5 and maybe 970 or something. Kind of like a miner but can also be used as a gaming pc if i ever stop mining. It seems bitcoins are no longer worth mining with cpu and gpu but are there any other coins that are profitable if i ran my miner 24/7? -
Would be nice to be able to get rid of the old console and put a nice steam machine on my tv, one can only hope haha

I know the box had upc but couldnt really find much online, although i didnt spend too much time on it. If i knew i had to keep the upc woulda just cut it out originally, guess gotta start reading the fine print haha

Oh we have them here in the states, they're kinda a way to get people to buy them since they'll say you can get a rebate back to get some money back, like a coupon but unless you do certain things (mail them the required information) you can get it back. I ordered these parts because they were good parts and have great rebates to get me some money back but after trashing all the boxes after the build i saw that you need information from the actual box to even be qualified for the rebate

Recently built another system with some hardware i had lying around, had to order some ram, a power supply, and a graphics card, went with gtx 950. Was watching the price a bit since its probably gonna be getting sold so i was getting about $50 in rebates. Little did i know now a week later when i try to get the rebates is that in order to get the rebate you need the barcode on the box. So anyone who expects a rebate make sure you cut out the barcode! Now im out on my rebates so i guess thats how they get you

anyone ever do rebates? Have rebates on my pc components but never did them since they take so long. these seem worth it but they take so long to get paid. it says 8-10 weeks
