  1. Might have to try this. I tried it but it bit into the desk so hard it just murdered the surface. Do you think manually rotating the bit with a ratchet would work to just make maybe a 1/16th deep groove?
  2. I wasnt quite sure where to post this. But I have a countertop from IKEA im using as a desk and I was wondering how I would be able to open up a 1" grommet hole up to 1.5" without chewing up the surface. I've tried a hole-saw in the passed, but without the pilot bit, it walks and eats up the surface bad.
  3. any possible ideas? Are bumps allowed here?
  4. I've been digging around looking for solutions. Done a lot up to and including a new network card, got a new motherboard from MSI and its all still 365/1000 for upload. Is there any setting or ways to fiddle with it to get my upload to attain that 1000 upload. I hit 980/980 when I do a test at the modem, but to my tower is 950ish/365ish.
  5. Thank you for the choices. I've done speed tests and link tests between systems, the network port on my motherboard is kaput. I mentioned it earlier in a different comment.
  6. I use the second router with the wifi on the arris set to off. the range on the netgear one is much, much better.
  7. The ONT has a fiber line going to it and there is an RJ45 going to the Arris box, which is a 4 port "switch/router/thing".
  8. I have the PC's that are hardlined directly to the modem and than the 4th port is feeding a router for phones, tablets, TV's, etc. I found a link someone posted and piced one that had a whackton of good reviews. It should be a good replacement for my issue. Also, would it be worth my while to get a 3rd party modem?
  9. It is fiber to the ONT box, than RJ45 to the modem and RJ45 to the tower. All of it is on CAT6 (I know 5e is fine, just clarifying.)
  10. Its just from home modem to PC. If you have something that would work, feel free to link it.
  11. I may be misinformed on some of this or just behind. But its to replace the one I'm using on my motherboard for my personal PC. Its flakey, as in it cuts out and is unreliable. It will completely disappear from Device Manager and come back randomly. I just need a replacement that will be able to use the full 1000/1000.
  12. I'm asking to avoid buying a headache. anyone that has a good one that fine and works would be great, let me know! A simple, 'Here check this one out, it works fine." would do. But no, this forum is full of blanks.
  13. Thanks for the incredibly not helpful response. I'm looking for people with general knowledge and experience. I know some chipsets can be better than others. Please, for everyone, do not post things like that. You offer no tangible benefit to the community saying things like that.
  14. Wondering what some of you would recommend for a network card to handle 1000/1000 att fiber.
  15. Look. I'm asking a simple question. I don't get what people DO NOT UNDERSTAND. At this point its not even being rude, its everyone being a pretentious dick about everything. "its not this, its not that." No, shut up. I'm going to ask a question in a different post and erase this one because this has been a gigantic waste of my time. I know what I'm doing and 100% it is the device on my board. Full stop, no more questions, that is what it is. 100%
