  1. You've established that for your use, but people use their smartphones differently. If you are not a hardcore user and bigger battery is not a need, then yes, you are correct, if you care about $10~$20 a year. Truth is, today's batteries are not enough for a heavy user to last a full day.
  2. Most people don't care about efficiency. You can't compare smartphones to vehicles. Difference in annual cost for a smartphone with better or worse efficiency is almost irrelevant, for a car it's quite relevant. At the end of the day, what matters is if your phone battery lasted or not, period. It's not an efficiency contest, it's usability. They could invent a 50mAh battery with uber-crazy efficiency, but if the phone lasted for only an hour, then it's just plain useless.
  3. I have read about positive air pressure and thought about getting a CoolerMaster Seidon 240M. How is that for positive air pressure: Seidon 240M Raditor on top - 2x Intake Front fan - Intake Bottom fan - Intake Back fan - exhaust Side fan (closer to CPU) - still undecided Side fan (closer to VGA) - exhaust (I have a MSI GTX 660 TI, blows air inside the case)
  4. I live in Brazil, in a region that can get very hot sometimes, and is also full of dust from construction sites around. I'm looking for a case that is very well isolated, so that dust wont come inside, but that at the same time doesn't hurt cooling. Right now I have a CM690 II, and although it has lots of filters, it's not enough to keep dust from getting inside. Any ideas of what I can get? I'm also not the kind of guy that disassembles his computer to clean everything. I usually clean up when I have to install something (a new HD, SSD, VGA, etc). That said, the more isolated the better.
  5. Nvidia. Mainly PhysX, and the fact that the MSI 660 Ti Power Edition had so many compliments at the time.
  6. Following all your Computex content! I need those Red driiiives. :D https://twitter.com/rinaldopjr/status/343776107780247552 https://www.facebook.com/toziii/posts/10151475487152253
  7. I prefer to pay the full price and get an unlocked phone, manly because of the delay on Android upgrades and all the bloatware provided by the carrier. I do get a 30% discount on my plan for not getting a phone, although it's not enough to compensate things. Anyway, in Brazil the plan is, in general, very expensive.. R$1700 [$850] for a Galaxy Note II (without LTE, and at a very good price, normal was ~R$1900) R$113 [$57] per month for: Unlimited same-carrier national calls, unlimited SMS, 2GB crappy internet (2Mb/s when it's good) and 60min for other carries. Anyway, unlocked devices are easier to resell and I like the fact that my Android wasn't modified by my carrier.
  8. 1. Thumbnail. Normally I just pick one based on the YouTube default options. Did you click because of the more "pro" thumbnail? The thumbnail, IMO, should show the product you are going to talk about in the video. If you can pick a nice one from YouTube, I don't see why that's a problem. Actually, it's more natural, which for me is a good thing. In this video particularly, I don't like the fact that it's about the Z10 but thumbnail shows a lot of phones all together. 2. Macro footage. Did you like it? Hate it? Neutral about it? Very nice. Shows little details of the product. But don't forget to show your experience with the product. For e.g., when you were removing the back cover, we didn't get to see the "natural experience" of it (at least not at that moment). 3. Long, drawn-out, rambling style of the A-roll footage. Should I keep this (classic Linus) or switch to tighter cuts with a more focus? Definitely keep classic Linus. It's more natural and shows that you are confident of your opinion. We know it's not a pre-written script. Plus, we get to see your first reaction on things, which shows a very important part of your opinion (which is one of big the reasons people watch your videos). By the way, Focus could be worked a little bit more.
  9. Seriously, I still have a Nehalem Core i5-760 running at 3.66Ghz, and I haven't seen a game it can't handle. I don't get it why people keep changing their processor. Why not save for a better graphics card? It's going to be a good upgrade for those still running Core 2/AMD Phenom or earlier.
  10. I use a Cooler Master 212+ (Plus). It's not expensive and does a very good job. Just make sure you don't have a too small case.
  11. v1, v2, v3 and v4 are Strings, so when you do "v1 + v2 + v3 + v4" you are actually concatenating Strings. You should parse them to some Number format prior to making this calculation. I'm don't have experience with VB, but I think it's something like Int32.Parse(String).
  12. I hardly see new things being created with Flash nowadays. It's like fading out from the market and the internet. Like RLemon said, if you are going to show what you can do, and intend to get a Job out of it, then do your best with Flash. But I strongly advice you to start learning HTML5 and CSS3, because that's going to be dominant in the early future. Or, if you have time/money to spend, and don't really need a Job on Flash right now, go learn HTML5 and CSS3 ASAP so you can prepare yourself for the future.
