  1. So, I just recently discovered one oddity about my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+. I tried connecting my wired headphones using a USB-C Dongle and get the message "The connected USB Device isn't supported". Then, when I tried to enable USB Audio using the Developer Options in Settings I noticed they seem to have completely removed that option? Looks like Samsung wants to force you to use only Bluetooth headphones. Moreover, their Galaxy Buds... Any thoughts/solutions on this?
  2. Hello, I recently found This resource over on Reddit. It compiles a lot of the recent gaming laptops. You'll want to be looking out for a laptop with a stronger CPU/RAM for music production in particular. Lenovo Legion 5 would be a good pick. It's got a good CPU, decent graphics card and fits your budget quite nicely.
  3. I have looked at the Alienware stuff but they're a little overpriced imo. For me CPU is more important than GPU for my workflows... I was wondering whether it would be a good idea to go for a previous (9th) gen intel CPU to save some money over the 10th gen models. That's another consideration I was thinking about. If I could get a good deal on a previous gen model that would still be sufficient I wouldn't mind. I'm not particularly looking for the highest possible performance, just the most appropriate in value for what I need it to do Also, the GE66 I listed has a 2080 with Max Q, compared to the one you listed there with a 2070 (non Max Q?). Afaik, that's a full 2070 which would have better performance than the 2080 with Max Q? Or have I got that wrong?
  4. Yeah, I see that available here. Similar spec; Differences being; Bigger battery (99Wh/94Wh) Not as much RAM (16/32gb) Higher refresh rate screen (244/144Hz) More Storage (1TB/512GB) Way better IO No Numpad More expensive (£2200/£2600) Seems like the RAM is upgradeable anyway, so perhaps I could do that later as needed... There are other similar laptops the same price range such as; Aorus 15G, Acer Predator Titan 500, and uh, some others that escape me. But basically this is why I'm getting confused. It's hard to pick one when there are so similar within the same price range
  5. I'm trying to find a laptop at a "reasonable" price and the best value for its performance but there are so many options now with so many different configurations and price points. It's pretty overwhelming. I am looking for a UK Retailer I can purchase from. This device will be my main daily driver for the next year or so. I'm looking for a device that's able to proficiently tackle both; Productivity tasks in 3D Software (ZBrush/Autodesk Maya/Substance Painter/Unreal Engine 4/) "Hardcore" gaming Minimum main criteria for me; Display: 1080p IPS Panel @120Hz (color accuracy fairly important too) Speakers: Unimportant (will be using headphones) CPU: i7 or equivalent 6-core processor GPU: GTX 2070/2080 (preferably) RAM: 16gb RAM Storage: 256gb SSD + 1TB HDD Battery: 80Wh Battery (good battery life preferable) IO: Ethernet/3 USB 3.1 Ports/USB C Keyboard: Backlighting (Numpad preferred) I may have missed some considerations but from what I've been looking at I have been thinking about the Gigabyte Aero 15" from the retailer linked. I'm not sure if there are any better deals at this price point (I can be a little more flexible if it means getting more value) but I appreciate any suggestions/recommendations! Thanks!
  6. Hey, My CPU cooler came today and I was unable to get isopropyl alcohol so I just rubbed off the thermal paste using a microfiber cloth. It looks pretty clean to me but there's a streak on the right side of the CPU (I dunno if you can make it out in the attached picture).Would it be okay to install the new cooler like this or should I try and get isopropyl alcohol or use some alternative to clean it further?
  7. Thanks for all the responses! I think I'll go check out chemists to see if I can buy isopropyl alcohol off the shelf. Any other suggestions of the kind of stores I could look in?
  8. From reviews I read on amazon, some got it in a tube and for some it was pre-applied. Should I buy some Isopropyl alcohol to remove the thermal paste or just wipe it with a cloth?
  9. Hey, So I just ordered a Hyper X 212x CPU cooler to replace the intel stock one on my I5-4690K and I was just wondering when installing it would there be a need to replace the thermal compound that's on the existing cooler?
  10. Ouch, sounds nasty >_<. What do you think about the weight of the mouse? It's 35g lighter than my current one. I'm sure it doesn't matter that much? @Merp83 I looked at the steelseries mice you recommended and whilst they do look very good they're a bit out of my budget. I'd like to go no more than £50. Also, any opinions on buying a manufacturer refurbished mouse? I've noticed they're considerably cheaper. I wonder if they're still covered by warranty etc.
  11. Oh really? that's interesting, I have corsair RAM and a Corsair Headset which I thought were pretty decent. I was thinking of going corsair for the mouse as I've heard good things about their keyboards and so if I eventually got one of those then I could use the same software to configure both the keyboard and mouse like I currently do with my Logitech keyboard and mouse
  12. Hey guys, I've noticed my current mouse (logitech M705 Marathon mouse) has started to give me problems after many years of service . So I've decided I should just buy a new one. I was looking at wired gaming mice and from what I've read the Corsair Sabre RGB gaming mouse is similar in ergonomics, has plenty of programmable buttons, and isn't too expensive. So, I was just wondering what people's opinion is on it. I'd be using it for games (obviously) and for graphics editing and all that fun stuff. From the review, the only qualms seemed to be with the Corsair software but I figured as that review is quite old those little niggles would be sorted out. What do you think? Thanks!
  13. Ah, see, the LEDs and fan hub are all run by the same 4 pin molex connector and the fan hub has always worked okay. I'm not sure how to go about finding out what the issue is
  14. Hey, so for a while now I've noticed the LEDs on my NZXT H440 are a bit temperamental. In total there are 3 LEDs for the case, there's the IO one on the back, the power one and the Logo LED. The power button one has always worked but the IO and NZXT logo LEDs don't always work. There's a button on the back to toggle them on/off but that's not the problem. The LEDs will work spontaneously. For the last few months they seemed to be working alright but yesterday the NZXT logo was on, but a but dim so I pulled a Fonzie and bashed the top of the case and that make the light more intense. Today again, however, the LEDs are off. I've checked the connections multiple times and nothing wrong there . This is a problem I've been having pretty much since I got the case 3 or so years ago. Could it possibly be something to do with other components I have in my system? I really dunno, Anyway, thanks
