  1. Heya all, So I'm beginning at a new school soon and but I can't decide on a laptop to use. I will have to use programs like Solidworks and CAD. i'm not expecting that it will be very intense but I still want a good systeem that if I have alot of parts it will run smoothly. I know that I'll atleast need an I5 proccesor and 8GB ram to make it work smoothly, but i'm not sure yet if I need an Nvidia or AMD graphics card. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of less than €1000. The theme I'm going for is as least "gamer" as possible, sleek, light but powerfull.(I know that wont work but i can still dream :P) I've been looking at the HP Omen (I know its a gamer laptop but that is in my opinion still a nice laptop that doesn't SCREAM gamer... just says it), HP Spectre and HP Envy. (Alot of HP now that i think about it) the laptops in my mind have a nice look to them and seem to be good for a student. and as I see it a fair price. Although most don't have a dedicated Nvidia/AMD card. Of course i'll want a game or two on the laptop but I've built a PC that handles the big games so games are not really neccesary. So all in all can I run Solidworks, Autocad and do coding on a I5/I7 laptop with 8GB RAM without a Nvidia/AMD graphics card? P.S. I don't live in America so I probably wont be able to get a particular laptop one might suggest, I can look for a laptop with equal(-ish) specs. P.P.S. there is probably already someone with a similar question on the forum i just couldn't find it If there is anything else that needs to be said I'll be happy to awnser.
  2. i have no idea what i did but when i reset my pc it was fixed i geuss. but i was having this problem yesterday too when i found out i couldnt run bioshock dlc anymore. so it wasnt a when i found it i panicked i tried to find it yesterday and today
  3. im using the MSI z97 Gaming 3 MOBO. but i dont see why getting rid of killer network manager will help me
  4. I've been using this PC for about a year now and never had problems with my RAM. and im the only one using it
  5. My OS is in dutch but its . Processor, memory, disk and network
  6. Heya all, My Ram stays at 98%-99% all the time. I have no idea why because it shouldnt run nearly that much. Even when im idling or when i start my task manager first thing it also shows the memorry running at full. If anyone has any idea how to fix this I'd love to hear it. My ram is 2 x 4gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3
  7. soo.... im still having problems. so i just wanted to ask you if you found out if it was the mobo, and if not did you find out already?
  8. i think you are able to set the order in which it checks for bootable drives. try dragging the usb to the front. This method is used for my msi mobo so i dont know how asus works really, but it should be the same concept
  9. i cant find anything about which dimm slot i should use for one stick of ram... i dont know if it even matters with just one but is there a standard or something? also the dual channel sticks need to be in slots 2 and 4.
  10. alt+f12 doesnt do anything. atleast i still dont see anything
  11. Heya all, A few days ago while i was playing a game my pc froze and when it responded it gave some error messages. I already tried reaseating gpu, ram, all peripherals and clearing cmos but it still doesnt give video output. One time i only had the ram, cpu, mobo and psu in and it still didnt show anything First it was stuck in a boot loop but that doesnt seem to be happening anymore. Every once in a while my mouse and keyboard lights turn off for a few seconds though. Also I know that the screen still works. when I was playing I had windows 10 installed but in the meanwhile i took out my ssd, put it in another (older) pc and reinstalled windows 8.1. I cant use the older pc for any testing because it is fairly old and probably wont be able to handle anything i put in it. I'm beginning to think that the prolem is with the bios. So my biggest question is if i can download a bios on something lika an usb and use a front header on my pc to load the bios from there. My mobo is- MSI z97 gaming 3. The mobo should have 2 bios' but I have no idea how to activate the second one If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I hope I can awnser them
  12. an 120gb ssd would suffice but you'd want a 500gb/1tb hdd with that to store games and such on
