  1. I wonder if @LinusTech would be interested in doing a commercial. I can supply the Tesla in YVR and donate some $$$ for its production cost.
  2. try this if you mean on a PC ipconfig | find /i "gateway"
  3. I'm toying with figuring out EV Trip Planning for the Tesla Model X. In particular with towing trailers with different aerodynamics. Here's a good one for Tesla S variants and the Nissan leaf vehicles. https://evtripplanner.com/ Sometime like that, but besides having Model X variants, being able to pick the trailer you are pulling, take weather and winds into account for the typical date that the route is being planned for.
  4. Create a simple html form that the user can enter the search criteria and submit the form to a php page. Note: You should create a separate index for each field in the table to get at the results in a timely fashion. To have each field as a criteria, create a form with input boxes for title, description, url and keywords. Then you can find the results by using a query like this: select se.id ,se.title ,se.description ,se.url ,se.keywords from searchengine se where 1=1 and (se.title like '%$title%' or se.description like '%$description%' or se.url like '%$url%' or se.keywords like '%$keywords%'); Or if you want a single "search" criteria to look at all the fields, create a form with a single input called search and then you can find the results: select se.id ,se.title ,se.description ,se.url ,se.keywords from searchengine se where 1=1 and (se.title like '%$search%' or se.description like '%$search%' or se.url like '%$search%' or se.keywords like '%$search%'); Use the Id field to go to a detail page and pull up the individual record if desired. select se.id ,se.title ,se.description ,se.url ,se.keywords from searchengine se where 1=1 and se.id = $id; Hope that helps lead you in the right direction.
  5. You need to be more a logic person than a math person (almost directly correlated of course), but all great math people are very good coders IMHO. Without it you could go in circles pi times. But its also an art. So some artist people may figure out the math part and come up with some very elegant solutions than a math person might model for longer before getting anything out.
  6. Or somewhere there abouts. Documentation is like sex: when it is good, it is very, very good; and when it is bad, it is better than nothing. -- Dick Brandon (?) Personally I've done soo much of it and seen so much of it done. Its outdated the second its created, but is valuable to give you a general idea. Most of the developers I know might do a very precursory look at the docs and then just look at the code and figure it out. For a high level of how to break it down and what to start with, this might help http://poslis.fon.bg.ac.rs/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=235&Itemid=35
  7. Some other driver assist features:.... and this is the something else "AUTO PILOT!" This isn't bullshit, but will read as such.. Regular or Aggressive Auto-Pilot (Can also self park itself on private property, come to you in the morning!) Emergency Breaking and avoidance etc.. etc.. etc..
  8. And yet more rehash... http://www.theverge.com/2014/10/9/6955357/this-is-tesla-s-d-an-all-wheel-drive-car-with-eyes-on-the-road
  9. FYI: original article has been taken down... another one that read it re-hashed it here too. http://www.engadget.com/2014/10/09/tesla-d-awd-driver-assist/?a_dgi=aolshare_twitter
  10. Livestream here if interested. About 20 minutes to stage... http://new.livestream.com/accounts/10419610/events/3475766
  11. The front motor will have a different gear ratio, so less effort to keep it at highway speeds. I see at least 2 a day around Vancouver (not including mine).
  12. New Summary ------------------- Details are starting to show on the Tesla Motors website. US customers appear to be able to order. Canadian site says coming soon. However, website has been up and down. With the newly updated design studio and what I heard on the livestream, here is an overview. Safety Features: - Provides safety features as standard (will show and give driver feedback with visuals on dash and steering wheel feedback) - Emergency Breaking and avoidance (upgraded electric brakes and steering) - Updates over the air will add more features - Note: current Model S off the line in the past two weeks have included the hardware for this. (I believe the firmware to activate has not yet released) Dual Motors - Available in late December the Tesla Model S with Dual Motors, named P85D, will do 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds. - The Model S 85D and Model S 60D will be available in February 2015. Range increases (EPA miles) - The range increase due to the dual motors. - 60 kWh: 208 -> 225 17 more miles, 8.1% more - 85 kWh: 265 -> 295 30 more miles, 11.3% more - 85 kWh: 265 -> 275 10 more miles, 3.7% more Auto Pilot (included in newly priced tech package $4,000 USD) - Parking Assist - Self-parking (on private property will be able to put itself in the garage and come and greet you when you are ready to leave) - Lane following, speed sign reading and speed adjustment, adaptive cruise control - Eventually Auto Pilot om highways from on-ramp to off-ramp Tesla staff taking event attendees on a test ride showing the performance and Auto Pilot.
