    I've set it up according to the manual and my pc detects the mixamp so I think it's a problem between the mixamp and the headset. Any ideas?

    I meant it was better IN THIS SITUATION. He's looking to cut down in price so Windows 7 is the better choice in this situation.

    For Windows 8 to be decent you need to install classic shell. Windows 7 is still the superior OS.

    well, you should probably go for Windows 7 instead, and also go for an 750W PSU.
