  1. Nah she doesn't need a more powerful GPU really to play Oblivion But yeah don't know what case to buy thats my problem
  2. Budget (including currency): 100-200 - Preferably 100-150 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Skyrim/Oblivion - Similar low graphics games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey guys, So I am planning on building my girlfriend a PC for christmas, it'll be a very basic computer performance wise. Basically I wanna make it look pretty for her. My plan is to use old cpu/mobo/ram/gpu parts that are just laying around: CPU: i5-6400 GPU: GTX 1050 Mobo: MSI B150M Mortar Ram: 16gb Hyper X Fury DDR4 But I want to get her a smallish case (mini/micro atx) with a window so that she can see the custom cabling and her parts. Or just a nice case then she wont need to look in and I wont get custom cabling Could you guys help me with a case/modular psu and potentially custom psu cables (pink-ish if possible)
  3. So I have recently moved out of my main house into my new Uni house and only decided to bring 1 of my 3 monitors from home (the 2 other ones I have are really basic 1080p monitors that I only use for extra productivity when programming) I am currently looking to get a new monitor so I can have 2 good monitors whilst I am living at University. I have been trying to make my mind up on whether I want to get a 4k monitor or if I want to get like a 1440p 144hz monitor. My other monitor is a Benq XL2420G which is a 24" 1ms 144hz GSync Monitor so I am pretty sure that the majority of my games will be still played on that monitor (the likes of csgo which I need a high refresh rate and low response time). However thinking about a 4k monitor as I could play less competitive games like League of Legends or some single player games on the 4k as it would look nicer. I have a gtx 2080 so not really worried about my computer not being able to handle 4k though. The monitors I have looked at are: LG 27UK600: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B079ST25MR/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ADFSRUIA8HDF7&psc=1 # ASUS VP28UQG: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075CQ5Z8R/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2IZIWNXZQ7JSL&psc=1 ASUS MG28UQ: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01B6JD2R6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1 Samsung LU28E570DS: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LZ882YU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A34WP35ZK0D8NP&psc=1 Would like to know any other cheap-ish recommendations (less than £300ish but cheap as possible as I am back to having to pay bills myself as I have moved out lol) Or if any of these are exceptional then yeah. Thank you in advance
  4. Hey so I ordered these fans: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CO-9050072-WW-LL120-Dual-Light/dp/B075VGN4M1/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=ll120&qid=1564143573&s=gateway&sr=8-1 and 3 individual ones. And coming to plug them all in, the hub that I was given doesnt have any pwm connectors to power the fans. I assumed from what people have said is that was all I need to power all 6 fans (the controller and the lighting node pro). Will I need to buy the commander pro fan hub to finish this build or am I being stupid about the fans needing the pwm cables plugged in. My motherboard is the x570 Gaming X mobo so I believe it only has 2 system fan connectors.
  5. the rm650x is black and I kinda want a white psu to go with the rest of my build as my case is white lmao. Don't mind spending more for a little nicer look. However now that I think of it I could get the 650x and then get the cable kit because im pretty sure my case the psu is not on display
  6. So I am currently buying all the parts for the following build. PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD - Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor Purchased For £326.00 Motherboard Gigabyte - X570 GAMING X ATX AM4 Motherboard Purchased For £191.00 Memory G.Skill - Trident Z Royal 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Purchased For £165.00 Storage Crucial - MX500 2 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Purchased For £157.99 Video Card Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB GAMING OC WHITE Video Card £600.00 Case Lian-Li - PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower Case Purchased For £125.10 Power Supply be quiet! - Dark Power Pro 11 650 W 80+ Platinum Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply £134.98 @ CCL Computers Case Fan Corsair - LL120 RGB LED 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fan Purchased For £16.00 Case Fan Corsair - LL120 RGB LED 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fan Purchased For £19.38 Case Fan Corsair - LL120 RGB LED 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fan Purchased For £19.38 Case Fan Corsair - LL120RGB LED (Three Fans With Lighting Node PRO) 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fans Purchased For £65.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total £1819.83 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-07-21 15:14 BST+0100 As you can see all I have left is the graphics card and the power supply. Now I want to have all either white or white and black cables, however I have found a different power supply: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CP-9020187-UK-RM750x-Modular-Supply/dp/B07HFKST91/ref=asc_df_B07HFKST91/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310773493424&hvpos=1o3&hvnetw=g&hvrand=978788802101680929&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9044979&hvtargid=pla-621747533715&psc=1&th=1&psc=1 This power supply comes with these cables in white: 1 x power 24 pin ATX with detachable 4 pin section ¦ 2 x power 8 pin EPS12V with detachable 4 pin ATX12V section ¦ 8 x 4 PIN internal power ¦ 9 x 15 pin Serial ATA power ¦ 4 x 8 pin PCI Express power with detachable 2 pin section My question is: Will I be able to plug all of the parts together with the supplied cables? Because if the corsair power supply has all of the cables for all fans and everything then I will get that as it costs £20 less than the Dark Power Pro 11 and it will already have custom sleeved white cabling. However, if it doesn't have all the cables then I will be looking at getting the DP11 psu with a custom cabling kit and I then have another question. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/bitfenix-alchemy-2.0-psu-cable-kit-bqt-series-dp-black-and-white-cm-263-bx.html https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cablemod-pro-modmesh-c-series-rmi-and-rmx-cable-kit-black-white-cm-13y-cm.html Will either of the following cable kits be enough for the whole pc build?
  7. Hey so I am planning on building a new pc and was hoping to kinda go all out for this pc. The motherboard I have bought for this build has connections for 2 NVMe m.2 ssds so I am thinking about maybe getting 2 1TB m.2 drives (will buy one now and then another in 2 months or so). Is this worth doing for the faster speeds or am I being silly and should just get a larger non m.2 ssd. Also if I have an m.2 drive and then i buy another m.2 drive later on, am i able to combine these drives into one drive so I wouldnt need to specify which drive certain things go to. I know RAID exists for hard drives but am unsure whether this still works for m.2 drives and how I would go about setting it up. Thanks in advance
  8. Yeah it is very tempting to be honest, very nice looking case. And I am planning on just using the sock wraith prism cooler that comes with it. But if that isn't going to be good then I will look into maybe getting an AIO but I have never had watercooling before so would be a scary thing to do haha
  9. So I need to source a graphics card with these 3 outputs for my work and was hoping someone could give me a pointer. Needs to be around £30ish. Might not exist but yeah haha Thanks
  10. Sorry I haven't got watercooling the picture isn't my pc haha, I meant in that the 6 fans in that way looking green sorry
  11. So I am in the process of building a new PC (buying parts over the next few weeks and already bought some) - build is the following: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD - Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor Purchased For £326.00 Motherboard Gigabyte - X570 GAMING X ATX AM4 Motherboard Purchased For £191.00 Memory Corsair - Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory £92.36 @ CCL Computers Storage HP - EX920 1 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive £128.14 @ Amazon UK Video Card Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB GAMING OC WHITE Video Card £600.00 Power Supply be quiet! - Dark Power Pro 11 650 W 80+ Platinum Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply £134.98 @ Amazon UK Case Fan Corsair - LL120RGB LED (Three Fans With Lighting Node PRO) 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fans £64.99 @ PC World Business Case Fan Corsair - LL120RGB LED (Three Fans With Lighting Node PRO) 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fans £64.99 @ PC World Business Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total £1602.46 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-07-07 22:49 BST+0100 So as you can see I don't have a case. In my current build I have an Inwin 303 with 6 green led fans. Looks very similar to this atm. Basically I need a new case which will display my parts nicely. I don't know whether I should find a new case or I should buy a new Inwin 303 to maintain the look. Any suggestions on cases that have a large window panel? Don't really want to go over £150 for the case but I can do if you convince me it is worth it Note: The reason I am either getting a new case or getting a new version of the same case is because I am selling my current PC as a fully built pc to a friend.
  12. Yh thanks just found out after looking at the 3700x that I need 3200mhz memory apparantly, plus found it on amazon for like £3 more lmao. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0795Z97K7/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2KVF7QXNCLV8H&psc=1 Amazon seems to say they are NVMe so I am hoping they are haha. Also yeah will be holding out for the 2080s I think because I am now going to sell my pc as a built pc and get a case psu and more sleeved cabling so will need to wait a while
