  1. Possibly but I did run DDU prior to installing the new drivers which usually lets them install without too much trouble.
  2. I recently updated my drivers to play R6 Siege with the new DLSS implementation and decided to run the benchmarking tool to see what kind of improvement I could get. To my surprise I saw the game was actually running worse with it enabled. Anyone have any idea why this might be? I noticed my GPU load counterintuitively increases with DLSS enabled so? Results without DLSS: Results with DLSS Balanced mode:
  3. I mean it's slightly better I guess because there's less to rearrange but it still has the same problem.
  4. I have recently got a dual monitor set up, so I have a 1440p 144Hz screen and a 4k 60Hz screen which is great. My problem is when I wake the system from sleep all programs (spotify, discord, etc) reset their positions from the secondary 4k screen to my primary 1440p display. Everything I've seen online for this so far has said to just update your drivers but I'm already running 451.67 on my 2080 so??
  5. Correlation doesn't equal causation. And besides, I don't have the neccessary equipment to use an xlr microphone anyway so usb is pretty handy to me.
  6. This doesn't even have anything to do with it being usb??
  7. I found a thread on reddit a while back where someone else had taken theirs apart for a different issue, turns out you do have to just yank the volume knob super hard to remove it, although I still haven't actually done it myself. And yeah it is a hex screw, but I just removed mine using a 1.5 flathead screwdriver.
  8. So I've been trying to take apart my yeti nano and I was able to remove the screw inside the screw mount but then the casing is still blocked from being removed by the volume nob. Does anyone know how to remove the nob to remove the casing?
  9. u^2 = n^2 + 2n How would I rearrange this for n? Any help is greatly appreciated!
  10. Personally I would wait, chances are the 118 will be cheaper than the 1080ti anyway
  11. So I dropped my phone earlier and the screen is quickly deteriorating, I wouldn't be surprised if it's completely gone by tomorrow morning, so I'm going to have to get a new phone. The onplus 6 is coming out relatively soon, I reckon late mid to late may or early june, but bearing in mind I kinda need a phone do you guys think it's worth getting a oneplus 5t soon?
  12. Is the i5 9600k expected to go down in price? And if so when?
  13. So I want to get a ryzen 5 1500x but the RAM issues have me slightly wary, if someone can recommended some good ones that work, that would be nice. If I do get the ryzen, I'll probably get a mini itx mobo, meaning a 1x8GB stick would be nice to leave room for future upgrades.
  14. I ran the troubleshooter, it said it fixed some problems and told me to restart, so I tried it and the problem is still there
  15. So recently when i watch youtube videos, or amazon prime videos the audio has started to make crackling noises in my headphones. The audio also seems to become more desynced the more I watch it with the video being behind the audio. Does anyone know what I can do to try and fix this?
  16. That's what I would recommend. You won't see a huge difference in visual quality but there will be some, similar to the improvement brought by anti-aliasing. A 1070 should be able to run games at that resolution pretty well, if not go look at some of the other options in DSR, and try a slightly lower up-res. The amount of fps you will lose will vary per game, some you may not lose any some you may lose alot, it would be easiest to just try it out with fraps or something. Linus has a pretty old video that covers how to do it before DSR was an actual thing and you had to mess around with other settings to run at higher resolutions, but the video still shows off some of the benefits pretty well.
  17. In the nvidia control panel there is a setting for dynamic super resolution, it lets your video card render at a higher resolution internally and then output at the 1080p of your monitor. It is good for games if you can still run them at the resolution but isn't really recommended for just on the desktop. You can choose multiples of the resolution of the monitor and I remember some of them giving some odd resolutions so 2175x1527 may be one of them, but I disabled mine to just show 1440p and 2160p. AMD also has a variant of this known as virtual super resolution although I haven't used this.
  18. That's a molex connector, it was used as a general power cable, but I don't think it's used much these days.
  19. I don't need it to run any games, so it doesn't have to be super powerful. I'm from the UK and as far as I know there isn't any software I need specifically. I have a budget of about £1000, but I could push that to £1200
  20. I'll be heading to university in september, anyone have any recommendations on a good laptop to take with me?
  21. So I recently got oblivion since I never properly played it, I was quite young at the time, and I've installed a few mods to make it look a little nicer. Just an enb and oblivion reloaded because honestly I couldn't be bothered to do anything else, so after that I went to create my first character. I then changed my race from the default imperial and it crashed. I tried again but this time I went left on the race selector and it let me load high elf, dunmer and breton if I remember right but then on the next one it crashed. So I tried again but this time just choose imperial, this time it let me carry on and we headed into the dungeon a bit with the emperor but as soon as it had to load one of the npcs in there it crashed again so it must have a problem loading certain races and I have no idea how to fix that. Anyone got any ideas?
  22. If I buy the low-tier games now can I upgrade to one of the better tiers later, such as once they add more stuff to the mid-tier.
  23. Well yes I am aware that it can be made using a simple loop but you seemed to be going for a recursion approach so. Recreating what you've written it seemed to work for me so I'm not sure what went wrong but if I was in your position I would differentiate the print statements so you know which one is actually running.
