Hello,
I have recently been getting into emulation with retroarch and is it going great however I have had an issue with Wii emulation specifically Super Mario Galaxy where everytime I collect a star bit the game slows down alot but otherwise runs fine. I found this site which seems to have explain something similar but I can't seem to find the correct settings: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php/Super_Mario_Galaxy
I have an I7 10700, RTX 3070 and using an XBOX One controller. So the specs should not be a problem.
Do we have any emulation wizards that may be able to help?

Hello, I have a R9 390x and a Ryzen 1600. I'm looking to upgrade GPU first and the CPU at a later time.
What graphics card would be a good upgrade and one that would not bottleneck too much with my current CPU?
I'm gaming at 1080p 144Hz, and open to both Nvidia and AMD GPU's.

Hello, got a Ryzen 1600 recently with slow RAM and 8GB capacity.
It is 2x4 GB sticks which I will replace.
I am looking to upgrade to 16 GB, and wanted to know if you have any recommendations in regards to brands, speeds and timings.

Hello,
I have a weird problem with one of my laptops, when the laptop booting while connected to the dock it says plugged in not charging.
Then i have to take it out the dock and back in or sometimes restart the laptop to get it charging again in the dock.
I have tried updating and resetting the bios, but it still happens.
This happens everytime the laptop is connected to the dock, but only when booting while in dock.
Any ideas?

Hello,
I was curious as to how my i5 4690 was holding up and ran the Cinebench benchmark, however it only scored 434 is that normal?
My cpu temp was hitting 80 at max.

I use Windows Defender, and MalwareBytes as a backup, plus Common Sense.
I havent looked into Windows Defender in a long time, how is it now?

I am using the free version of Bitdefender and SUPERAntiSpyware, I like the simplicity of Bitdefender and the low impact on performance it has, as for SUPERAntiSpyware I use it because its rated as one of the best.
I have also tried MalwareBytes, but I find that SUPERAntiSpyware scans my PC more thoroughly.
Would love to hear what you use and why, also if you have any recommendations.

Have you overclocked your fx 6300? That would be the cheapest way to increase performance.
Yes it's overclocked to around 4.2-4.3.

Not really. But even if there was a slight improvement, if you got the 2400 you would also have to buy a new board so it's not worth it at all
Okay forgot to mention i would get the board also.

Hi there,
My little brother currently have an fx 6300 in his system and I might be able to get a i5-2400 for free.
So will the i5-2400 perfom any better in games than the fx 6300?

I currently got a i5 4690k and a 390x and i'm planning on upgrading to a gtx 1070 and a 144hz display. My question is can my i5 4690k supply the 1070 with enough frames that a 144hz display is worth it?

It's dual channel, so 2x800 = 1600mhz.
Oh ok ty i just got a little confused when i saw that.

Yeah but the thing is many games dont scale that well in sli or crossfire.I personally would recoemnd a R9 390 Crossfire for 4K the cards will do much better especially with 8GB of ram and gives you a bit more raw horsepower aswell

Do you think i should wait for pascal and polaris?
-
What would be the best to buy out of these two? I have heard amd hardware runs good on dx12 but of course there is no way of knowing.

well when I hit my vram limit in gta v
My fps tanks for 130 to 50s
So if the 290x is the 4gb one then that's ur answer
Yeah but how does that make sense when other 4gb cards from nvidia are doing fine?
-
The 390x is clocked 50Mhz higher on core and 250mhz higher on vram. But I didn't expect the difference to be that big as well.
Yeah its crazy i know the 390x has 8gb of vram and its using 6 almost 7 of my vram in game, but it should not result in such a big performance increase.
-
Why is there such a big difference between the 290x and the 390x i thought it was only a few changes they made, but anyways i am happy i bought the 390x
Here is the benchmark : http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/call_of_duty_black_ops_iii_vga_graphics_performance_benchmark_review,7.html

As long as SLI works, sure. It's only 2GB though. Which wouldn't be a problem for one 680/960, but if you're trying to run higher settings it might.
Yeah i guess the 2gb on it could be a problem for newer games.

Just wondering if the 690 is still good for todays mordern games?

Solved it by using Dolphin emulator instead as the Retroarch core is not as fast.
