  1. Algood, there other stuff i tried to enable like QoS feature, but internet disconnected. will have to try again later and see what turns the internet off and update this post with more info
  2. With the ISP modem I could easily change the DNS server?
  3. Hey, So I decided to buy a new router, ASUS RT-86U. I've set it up according to my ISP's settings and it's connected to the internet. However, if I were to change something like my DNS to 1.1.1.1, it disconnects from the internet. I've contacted Asus, they said apart from helping with setup everything else is an ISP problem. Contacted ISP, The range is awesome, I don't have the stability issues where there'd be no internet randomly with my ISP router, it's just WiFi speeds aren't as great as you'd expect for a $400 router hahah. Please help me, I'm not the smartest with networking Cheers.
  4. Cheers, I live in a small complex of apartments, I'm at one of the corners so not too adajacent to anyone else. But I'll keep that in mind if I buy a new router.
  5. 1. I could've includes the screenshot of the 5GHz analysis, but my 5GHz wifi was the one only showing up so I saw no point. 2. Actually, the S8 was connected to the 5GHz wifi and was only 40 cm from is however results were 30 down 30 up. the iPhone X was 6m away and on the other side of a wall. 3. The router swap was because I asked my ISP to send a replacement, it's the exact same model. I googled reviews on it and others are complaining of it shitting itself after some months. 4. I'm strictly refering to basing on speedtest results. My PC connected over ethernet always had results of roughly 900. the previous router had 240 down as the result, the replacement was reading back up at 900 again. Last night, while I was googling reviews on that router there are others who have the same problem. I was only asking if there was a wee temporary fix if anything, before I have to get a new router
  6. Alright, so I've been having this annoying issue with the Wifi where the internet Houdini's out. Still connected to the wifi with a good signal, however, the internet's just non-existent at times. I've contacted my ISP for a replacement modem as it got so bad even my PC, which is connected over ethernet, was around 240Mb/s (picture 1) down instead of 900Mb/s down (picture 2). I've attached results from my dad's iPhone X and my S8, side question does anyone know why he's getting mad speeds? he was sitting 6m on the other side of a wall, and my phone was 40cm away form the modem. I've also included a screenshot of the Wifi Analyzer, 2.4GHz used to Autoselect Ch.8 but I've set it at Ch.13, and also jumped on the 1.1.1.1 DNZ bandwagon, only diff I've seen is my speedtest results (ethernet connected PC) came down to 1ms ping from 3ms. I used to have the modem connect through the built-in ethernet ports going throughout the house, but tbh that was a bit finicky so I'm using a long ethernet cable probs about 15-20m to go from the ONT box in the garage up to my room which is directly up the next floor. I've got 3 powerline adapters going go throughout the house. So my question is does anyone know why the internet drops out? I've received a replacement from my ISP (Spark, NZ) the modem model is Huawei HG659b. besides actually buying a new modem, is there something I can do with the gear I have now?
  7. Oh god I feel like a muppet hahaha, I clicked "Troubleshoot sound problems" and it said that enhancements could be the problem. Nothing on the A50's but the transmitter had "Voice Cancellation" which I don't remember touching ever so I don't know how that came to be. Unclicked that and it's all working fine now Cheers lads
  8. When I'm in chat I can hear my mates perfectly well, but like vocals from songs or from games aren't as clearly and I can barely make out what they're saying.
  9. Hey I've looked but found nothing relevant, Lately I've noticed the sound quality on my A50 is lacking. Like all the sounds are fine but I can't hear any vocals. I've started playing Rainbow 6 Siege on PC and realised I can't hear Voice in the briefing of the 'situations' and what not, even with music there's barely any vocals. Anyone have/had the same issue that can help me please?
  10. Mmm I would like to give my gf: Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition Over-Ear Headphones - Black I cannot find the black SE of these here in NZ; we have the non SE Noctua colour scheme but my gf would hate them. Gf gets panic attacks here and there, I'm currently on a boat working (and will be for a few months at a time) so I can't help her besides a phone call (if I even have signal at the time). So I think some good headphones for her to submerge herself into with her music would be a BIG help Wish everyone a Merry Xmas, and that they're safe over the holidays
  11. Ahhh you got me mate. hahah nah but in all seriousness I like it blacked out, I'm not feeling the 'accents'
  12. Tbh EVGA has the best looking mobos of the z170 range imo. It doesn't have the tacky colour combos some of the other mobos do
  13. The mic will be placed inside the helmet (Obviously) with all the padding inside the helmet not help dampen the external noise? Also hes asking for what headphones would be good to dismantle because the current ones aren't loud enough
  14. I forgot to add he doesnt want in ears because they're a pain in the ass when putting his helmet on apparently
  15. He said "How can you ride a motorbike and NOT watch that guy? but that's not where I got the idea from" Dw he has specific areas in his helmet for speakers, and it has a padding over that area too. I showed him a Zalman inline mic as they're recommnded alot, and also because all he would need is a splitter
