  1. Temps are very low so it's not over heating. I have xmp enabled. How do I DDU the drivers? It did this exact thing before upgrading the cpu, mobo, ram, cpu cooler. Makes me thing the GPU is dying.
  2. Never thought about a background program causing it. Restarting my computer does fix the issues. When it happens again I have to restart again.
  3. R5 3600, MSI Tomahawk Max, Samsung SSD, Western Digital HDD, EVGA gtx 1070 FTW, EVGA 650 watt Gold psu, G. Skill 3600 ram. I recently upgrade some parts of my PC. Before upgrading, my computer was having serious frame drops and lagging in things such as youtube, and web pages(it's lagging just typing this, the letters are delayed). It's still having these problems. I didn't replace the GPU, HDD, SDD, PSU, so it has to be one of these causing my problems. When playing games I get stuttering/freezing and frame drops. When watching youtube the video will sometimes freeze/stutter, it's doing it really really bad right now. The screen will freeze, audio will continue, then it will choppily resume the video. The lag is so bad on youtube right now, it shows the loading circle, and sometimes goes down to 480p from 1080p. Typing is laggy too, just typing this is a pain, I can type multiple words but it takes seconds to catch up and actually show up on the screen. What do you all think the problem is?
  4. This is the one I was originally looking. Not sure how I missed these reviews. I'll stick with this. Thanks
  5. I'm trying to finish up my R5 3600 build and I'm googling my ass off looking at QVLs trying to figure out which ram to go with. From what I've seen so far, I might go with the below ram, but it's a little more than I want to spend. I'm trying to find 3200 CL 14 or 3600 CL 16 for around $100 or less. If I need to spend more than $100 I will, but I'd prefer not to because I'm poor. Right now I'm looking on G.Skill and Corsair websites. The corsair in my price range is either 3600 CL 18 or 3200 CL16, I don't want CL18. G.skill lists only 3200 ram on their website, all are CL16 other than the below ram which is CL14. Any recommendations other than this ram? https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232530?&quicklink=true
  6. It will probably be a while before another upgrade, my current build is 5 years old. It's just for gaming and school work, school work is basic stuff. The GPU will either be my current 1070, or a upgrade to a 2070 or 5700xt. I might mess with a gpu overclock too but not sure.
  7. That's what I'm leaning toward since it's cheaper and has good reviews for the most part. I'm trying to decide if I like the look of it, and I've seen some reviews say it doesn't handle overclocking well.
  8. I'm going to get either the R5 3600 or the 3600x. I'm trying to decide between these motherboards. I plan to overclock and would like to get some opinions on which to go with. MSI B450 Tomahawk max https://www.newegg.com/msi-b450-tomahawk-max/p/N82E16813144267?Description=tomohawk&cm_re=tomohawk-_-13-144-267-_-Product&quicklink=true Gigabye X570 Gaming X https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-x570-gaming-x/p/N82E16813145161?&quicklink=true I'm tempted to go with the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE because it looks better but also like saving money. https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-x570-aorus-elite/p/N82E16813145160
  9. I'd prefer to pay as little as possible, but I can afford any of those combos, I don't mind paying a little extra if it makes more sense to get the I5 or 3600x. I was looking at the B450 but keep reading mixed reviews, I've seen many say not to use it for overclocking and the BIOS sucks. I've read the Gigabyte boards have a great BIOS and good for OC. Maybe others will chime in about the B450
  10. I'm working on upgrading from a I5-4690 with a Asus H97 Pro Gamer Mobo. Trying to decide between these 3 similar combos. I've never overclocked, but I plan to oc whatever I go with. This is mainly used for gaming; with BF5, BF1, and Rust being the most demanding games I play. I plan to eventually get another 1440p monitor since mine broke. I've read that when you OC Ryzen, it gets worse in games instead of better, not sure if it's true. Currently have a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW, but I might get a 5700xt. Also, I tend to have like 20 google tabs up on dual monitors, with discord, a game, and youtube all going at the same time. $354 Ryzen 5 3600 GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE $390 Ryzen 5 3600X GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE $415 Intel I5-9600k GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS ELITE
  11. Yeah benchmarks are similar, with the 5700 xt doing better in some games, like BF5 which is one I play. I'm just worried about all the bad reviews I'm seeing, such as crashing, and being unstable due to bad drivers.
  12. I might end up using the 1070 and if I'm not happy with the fps I get then upgrade. Can't decide. The rest of my build is 5 years old and giving me problems.
