  1. Hello everyone. I am a motion graphics designer who mostly works with digital footage, however I have always been very passionate about trying to achieve old school visual designs, as I found they have a specifi charm (Like film or lomography in the photographic sphere). While plugins to emulate the look have evolved immensely (such as Signal for VHS or AV Club for mini DV), I found out there's no substitute for the real thing. In the past I was able to record footage from my computer on a VHS via a digital to analog converter, but I'm not sure about Mini DV cameras. I shopped around for a few used models and most seem to have what's called a "dub" function, to send the mini-dv footage out to an external source, but saw no mention of a way to send digital footage TO the camera to record on mini DV. Basically what I'm trying to achieve is to have some graphics I'd make on my computer processed by the camera and recorded on mini dv, to then import it back to the computer. Is there any specific model or feature i'd need to look for? Thank you so much!
  2. Hello. Configuration: Seasonix Focus 750w 12600k 32GB Crucial 3200mhz CL16 RTX 3070 Ti Asus Z690 Prime Wifi DDR4 I can't understand what's going on. I rebuild the computer 4 times, removed one slot of ram at a time, changed gpu but nothing... The power button flashes like this and there's no signal. I don't know what to do. IMG_0603.MOV
  3. I have noticed the fans on the GPU don't spin. However the GPU itself lights up. There seems to be a problem fully seating the GPU, however it's lenght should be supported by the case...
  4. Updated the thread. I'm currently testing an other display. I have a windows 11 installation media ready if needed.
  5. I'm panicking here. I thouht you could also ask for troubleshooting here. Can I? The reason why the thead is incomplete is because I thought of this and went back; thought the thread was canceled. I have completed a new build, however I cannot access the bios. The power light just blinks.
  6. Configuration: Intel 12600k Corsair 4000D Airflow Asus Z690P Wifi DDR4 32 Crucial CL16 3200mhz Samsung P980Pro 500GB Seasonic Focus 750W Zotac RTX 3070Ti I just made a new build but I cannot access the bios (doesn't matter if connected to the GPU or the Motherboard). The power indicator blinks like this: IMG_0603.MOV Thanks
  7. Ok, I chose the 32GB as I want to be able to use discord aswell and maybe a few extra processes in the backgrownd, while not limiting gaming performance. I think it's a better choice overall and, being amazon, getting a refund for the previous kit was effortless. THanks for having helped me choose. In 2024 I'll go full into the DDR5 ecosystem, and we'll see what's what.
  8. I plan on gaming and using discord. That's it. Being amazon, sending back the previous kit is very easy. So I'm just interested in the best choiche. Cheers.
  9. Hello friends. Simple question. I have an RTX 3070 Ti and a 12600k to assemble; I bought 16GB of 3600MHz DDR4, however I'm getting buyer's remorse and I still have time to send it back and purchase 32GB DDR4 (same brand) at 3200MHz (both CL16). If I only want to game, what's the better option for my configuration? Should I keep the 16GB 3600MHZ or should I get the 32GB 3200 mhz? I'm planning on using XMP. Thanks
  10. Hello. Sorry for the somewhat weird thread, but this is the only forum I'm in with a decent sized community. I'm used to wear traditional sponge/silicon earplugs at night to better isolate from noises, however I work from home and unfortunately for the next 15 months there will be some intense renovation work in my building and there will be extreme levels of noise (they have to break the whole outer structure of the building with hammers, each day from 7.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.). I work from home and concentrating with this perpetual noise (especially hammers smashing the walls) will be impossible and I don't have the money to rent a place to work at (I also have a desktop setup and not a laptop). So I'm asking you (in your experience) what's the best type of earplugs for noise isolation...foam, wax, sponge? Do you have any advice? Thank you very much.
  11. Yes sorry I updated the thread. The cooler is the NH-D15. The NF-F12 was an additional fan I bought. Anyway yes...I thought as much. I have always only used one layer of paste, felt pretty weird to keep the original paste and then have some new one applied. I'll try the original compound first.
  12. Hello <3. I know how silly such a thread could seem like to experienced users, and prior to a few days ago I wouldn't have asked, however in the foolproof PC guilding guide I saw Linus mentioning you could add thermal paste on top of the one that's normally provided with noctua coolers, and I was a little confused... I have bouught some Arctic MX-5 just in case, however I'm not sure about having 2 layers of thermal paste on my CPU (12600k), as I have always assembled computers with just one layer of paste (either the one that came with the cooler or a newly purchased one). What would you suggest in my case? As state in the title I purchased a Noctua NH-D15 cooler. Should I just go with the paste the cooler came with? Should I keep it but add the MX-5 to the chip also, or should I wipe the original noctua paste and use only the Arctic one? Thank you, and sorry for my inexperience. Cheerio ^^
  13. I have more familiarity with Asus, as a brand. Anyway thanks to all the amazing advice you all gave me I was able to create a computer with the same budget as before, but a 3070 Ti.
  14. Thanks. Now disregard the Italian Amazon store, but this model is pretty much the same price. Is it better? https://www.amazon.it/ASUS-LGA1700-802-11ax-Ethernet-Sorround/dp/B09JM88DHR/ref=sr_1_3?__mk_it_IT=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=2QGJF3KGJKYNJ&keywords=z690&qid=1650469104&sprefix=z690%2Caps%2C119&sr=8-3
  15. I'm not an enthusiast, so I'm not interested in any overclocking that goes beyond the XMP. I'm just interested in a decently fast motherboard/12600K/16GBDDR4 ram combo that would work together nicely without castrating performance, but also without any special features I wouldn't use. Anything to suggest? Thank you very much. I have always been a PC gamer, but I'm not a tinkerer. That said, I'm still interested in building a decent system. From what I'm seeing in the reviews, the z690 UD doesn't support 3200MHz XMP.
