Are there any heat issues related to putting a sheet of plexi on the PCB? Does it not eventually melt it over time??

You don't need anything else other than a new case (optional) and a new motherboard. Other than that you have great components and there's no need to upgrade this soon. Unless you're rich, then that of course changes everything... :) -
I honestly think the Bitfenix Prodigy is the best.. I have one personally and I can say it is perfect.
