  1. No Android app, no proper video quality selection, no Android app, an iOS app and no Android app. Im gonna call it now when the android app arives it is going to be shit.
  2. Agree completely, can't even change the quality to a known resolution (720p 1080p) no it's just HD on or off.
  3. I want to share my two cents about the whole Vessel thing and how things are going with LTT. This is probably as effective as talking to a wall because nobody is going to read this but still I want to get some stuff of my chest. First and formost: NO WE ARE NOT ENTITLED TO ANYTHING, Linus (and the rest of LTT) can do what they want, when they want it. If they want to upload there video's to PornHub from now on they are free to do so. Linus does not have any obligations with his audience he does not own us anything. And please for the love of god stop using the word entitled because everytime I hear it I trow up a little. Linus moved to Vessel, a online video platform like YouTube but with a monthly subscription fee. Some people say that Vessel is not a competitor of YouTube, I disagree on that. They are in the same market space, target the same audience and want to provide a premium over YouTube by having video's released earlier on there platform and maybe even exclusives. I will be talking about Vessel and it's problems in a minute. Now why does it sting a little (with me) that Linus choose to move Vessel (or rather produce content that will be up on Vessel a week or so in advance)? I have been a viewer of LTT for a very very long time. Chest mounted tripod, Linus dying his hair about every week or so and also the dark time (the one's who were around back then probably know where I'm talking about). I have seen the channel grow very big and I am pretty happy for LTT and where they are now. It just feels like a kick in the teeth that after all the support and things that LTT have been trough Linus chooses another platform over YouTube, and yes I know it is "OPTIONAL" and "NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE" but it just feels weird. After all the "stay tuned for part 1-z of ..." and "This video is brought to you by ...." and of course the new office campaign I just get the feeling that I/we didn't do our "job" correctly and that after all that well at least I have seen it was not enough so just deal with it. It just feels like they say hey everything goes up in advance on Vessel, YouTube is not our platform of choice anymore. Don't get me wrong I understand why LTT keeps teasing video's and doing sponsered video's and I am completely OK with that, YouTube CPM low, and again I completely get that. And the ting is I/we should be more mad at YouTube (or shouldnt we?) for treating it's content providers like shit. They should have gone all out on preventing things like Adblocker (by the way when you use Adblocker you are a douchbag). In my opinion it is absolutely ridiculous that YouTube is not even profitable for Google itself, it is absolutely absurd. Now about Vessel, oh my Vessel Vessel Vessel you so flawed it makes me cry. Here are my problems with Vessel in no particular order: No android app Ads even tho you pay monthly for it, thats a bit curious for me No android app, android has more market share than Apple but no android app in which fucking year are we living No proper mobile website No android app, seriously? They seem like the kind of guys who would sell an app to you that is secretly just a website There needs to be a android app because we live in 2015 That was all, to sum it up: it just stings, I get it but it stings. Even tho this post is completely pointless (there is no point in arguing when nothing is going to change) I felt like I needed to explain myself more when I said/say: "I am not happy with the fact that Linus has chosen to make video's and put them up on Vessel a week in advance behind a paywal, even tho I understand it I am not happy with it".
  4. English is not my first language, sorry. Will look at the text again.
  5. A company known as Arubixs announced a smartwatch concept with 6'' (or 4'') screen on Indigogo, and now they don't exist anymore OR DO THEY They announced the project recently on Indigogo and asked for a low $300,000. Their Indigogo page is not available any more. Have they given up already? The screen would obviously be bendable (not the Apple type of bendable) and would be a whopping 6" or 4", which is in my opinion to big (and that's coming from a guy with a Note and (thus has) experience with big things). The fact that they are asking for such an extreamly little amount of money should raise atleast a couple of eyebrows. And, while it would be very cool, the chance that a company from out of nowhere can deliver those promessis is of course really small. My guess is that it is a social experiment and they where trying to make a thing go viral so that they can study it. Or it's just a prank. I would recommend reading the article from Engadget where they completely bust this concept. EDIT OH LOOWRDD I WAS WRONG: Apperantly they are still going, and it is a fault at Indigogo, not a hoax. https://twitter.com/arubixs/status/516996681875742720 EDIT 2.0: Seems like there Indigogo got taken down because of a copyright complaint. They are planning to go, and I roughly quote Steve Jobs and not Arubixs: "Thermonuclear on their asses" (they are looking what they can do about it legally). Here is the notice of infringement: http://www.arubixs.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/notice_of_infringement-arubixs-portal-20140929.pdf Link of a post on there website about the matter (there website seems to have a problem with the background not loading so the text is not very readable, when you select the text it is readable.): http://www.arubixs.com/press-release/ Specs list: Engadget link about them: http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/30/arubixs-indiegogo-hoax/ Broken Indigogo link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/portal-wearable-smartphone-disruptoverload Cringe worthy video of the company and the project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFQl-PiTJSg

  7. Hey guys I hope this is the right place to ask this question, if it is not please correct me! I am looking for a new laptop with a maximum of a 1000 Euro or around 1200 ('Murican) Dollar, but I dont know which one I should get can you guys help me? I am completely open for suggestions, the only thing the laptop should have is a SSD if that is possible and it should play games at medium settings at 30 fps atleast. What brand it is does not matter as long as it has Windows it is OK! Thanks in advance.
  8. Thats the whole thing it doenst just "emulate" an iOS device. And the guy did it for school, he did a paper on it.
  9. Students from the Columbia University have developed an application that allows iOS apps to run on android (very slowly). They have developed some kind of compatibility layer called Cider. The trick is that it makes the iOS app think its running in a native environment. Being an android developer myself, I cant imagine the pain they had to go through to make it work. It is just a concept that it works, or rather, that it can work. I don't think that they will do anything with it. It would be cool if the developers where to share the code on github or something, but I don't see that happening. What do you guys think of this? 10. For the first time a real human skull has been completely replaced by a 3D printed one! The dutch (yay) surgeon Bon Verweij has successfully replaced a skull from a 22 year old woman with a 3D printed skull. The procedure was conducted a few months ago but now details are being released. Surgeons say that this is a worlds first. The patient suffered from a disease which made her bones continue to grow. This led to the increase in thickness of her skull. The skull was 5 cm thick where it normally is 1 cm. An operation was needed because the pressure inside her skull was increasing and she was having headache and loosing her vision because of the pressure of the brain. The operation took almost a full day with the surgeons taking small brakes to drink coffee and eat microwave meals. Bon Verweij was impressed by the relaxed attitude from the woman and wasn't even sure if he would allowed the operation on himself because of the risks that were involved. And to give you an awesome quote from Bon Verweij: "Medical drills have all sorts of safety systems. They will turn of when there is only released a little bit of heat. Judiths (the woman) skull was very thick and hard. Error 1, error 6. I have seen all possible errors. Again and again I needed another drill. I had to go on. I have used a total of 18 drills(!!!!!!)". It is said that the woman is in good shape now and is already at work again. Now that this operation has been successful I am guessing and hoping that these kinds of solutions will be the future for problems that cant be solved with conventional methods.
