  1. Been having issues for a while with more intensive Games crashing to desktop or even resulting in a BSOD. Ive been trying to get to the bottom of the issues and yesterday decided to just do a completely fresh windows instal. Updated all my drivers (i think) and then started doing a bunch of diagnostics test. PC Specs: Windows 10 CPU: Intel i-5-10400F MoBo: Gigabyte B460M Gaming HD GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2060 PSU: Evga 700W Storage: 1TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 RAM: 2x16Gb Value Ram 3200 DDR4 Tests/Benchmarks run: Storage: Crystal-info Health Status reported as 100% Good Ram: Ran Memetest a few months ago and actually tried replacing the ram but didnt solve the issue GPU: Ran Fur mark to stress test the gpu and it ran for an hour without any issues CPU: Ran Prime95, Cinebench and CPU Burner. Prime95 and CPU Burner resulted in a BSOD after less than 5 min. Cinebench crashed to desktop after less than 5 min. In event log I consistently see event id-56 error which seems to be CPU related. Ive tried some of the recommended fixes like disabling cpu states in bios and enabling power loading but still have the issue. Bsod dump - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CyioE0-4DMXELnXnGElfyv9U-zatn-5l/view?usp=sharing Very annoying as it often crashes while im in a dungeon or raid while playing FFXIV :/. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Personally I'm leaning on the side of replacing the cpu or mobo (both? but i would expect only one to be faulty just not sure which) since (lucky) its does not appear to be a gpu issues. Update: I've also ran intels diagnostic tool and i get a fail at CPU 1 - Math but from what ive seen this does not necessarily mean its a issue with the cpu just it indicates there seems to be some form of a hardware issue.
  2. Yea i mean when I look at the stuff they get away with on imacs its crazy. +200$ for and extrage 8gb or ram ?!?. +600$ to have a 1tb SSD instead of a HDD (who still offers a HDD as the base molded) Like I get the whole aspect of simplicity and once you are in the mac ecosystem its hard to get out but the stuff they pull is crazy.
  3. So not for my but my parents have been wanting to get a new computer since their old imac is starting to get really slow and its really annoying them. I said ill help them pick one since i've got an idea of what they will need. So I was wondering when the next imacs will most likely be coming. Thanks
  4. i mean I know that my battery goes down over time and stuff but just the fact that all of a sudden it drops by so much. But yea i mean its great that i can replace my battery.
  5. So i realized sometime at the start of the year that my laptop's battery life was feeling short compared to what it was in the past. I've had the laptop for 2.5 years now and i found out I could see the battery's history so I did that. All looked normal for about the first year but in about December last year my battery capacity suddenly halved. I think something happened to my battery 2 (Top number is original capacity, bottom number is current 100% charge capacity) Battery 2 is a Lenevo Thinkpad 6 cell 68+ battery. Any idea what might have happened? I'm planning to replace it but would still be nice to know what might have happened.
  6. It is a product with huge possibility. The uses are endless it can be a massive home streaming setup. It can be a gaming setup like shown in the video. Overall it can do all that a tv or monitor can and more. The only question that stays is what the input lag for the monitor is as that might limit the types of games Someone would play on them.
  7. It depends on what you want an how much you are willing to spend on it. If you only want a modest overclock just get a decent air cooler. If you want to get a larger overclock than investing the money into a water cooler might be a good idea. But it depends on what type of overclock you want to make and how much you are willing to spend on a cooler. In case noise matters water coolers are generally a bit quieter. I think.
  8. Sam Beckett has made a video to demonstrate possible integration of 3D touch with the iOS Control Center. Here is the Video: I personally have an iPhone (Dont hate on me) and I feel that this would be good if apple used his idea. It would allow for more customisability. 9. I was wondering what your favourite tech news sites or ones that you use? My one is Arstechnica
  10. I wuld want this SSD to give my system more fast storage. So I have faster load times on more applications mostly games.
  11. Now just saying you wont be having quantum memory in your PC any time soon but it is a step in the right direction. To me this seem like a step in the right direction. This looks good since this allows you to only influence parts of it instead of the whole thing. We have a long way to go to making it last a long time but in this case calcium seems the way to go. But maybe we will find something more useful. and again as they said Don't expect to have any of this at home sometime soon. Read the full thing on ars for more info. 12. As most people know Walmart started selling a pre-paid10$ phone this is the review from Arstechnica. Its the LG sunrise. The guys at Arstechnica have already done some cheap phone reviews like the Intex Cloud FX a $35 smartphone that ran Firefox OS. They also compared it to the Android One and the Nexus 5X. Here are its specs. Screen: 480×320 3.8" (152ppi) LCD Os: Android 4.4 KitKat CPU: 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Ram: 512 MB GPU: Adreno 302 Storage: 4GB plus MicroSD slot (1.15GB usable) Networking: 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS Ports: MicroUSB 2.0, 3.5mm headphone jack Camera: 3MP rear camera Size: 113 x 63.5 x 12.44 mm (4.43 x 2.50 x 0.49 inches) Weight: 119 g (4.20 oz.) Battery: 1540 mAh (removable) Other: A 4GB MicroSD card! I feel that even for a 10$ phone this is disappointing. The fact that you can only look at it dead on means that it will be a pain to use and it will make everything very irritating. This is what surprised me the most. For a 10$ phone that it runs Android 4.4 KitKat seem good. The fact that you have access to all the apps makes it even more impressive. So now lets get on to the camera. Here are a few pictures taken by the phone. Normal room light: Here is a picture on a rainy day: And here is a picture in low light: Final thoughts So from the thing I have read it is what you can expect for 10$ it will not replace your top of the line phones but thats not what its made for. It's made for the people that cant afford a brand new supper advanced phone but still need one but all that they want to do with it is brows the internet or to use some apps. Here is what the guys at Arstechnica thinks Source: http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/12/a-review-of-the-10-walmart-phone-better-than-nothing-but-not-by-much/
