  1. I just tried to update the firmware via the Samsung Magician software and the standard 840 isn't even recognized by the software. My two 840 Evos were recognized though. So the problem still remains. Yeah I've tried it in several of my computers, all with the same result. The drive is recognized in the BIOs and the capacity is always ~1.0gb.
  2. Yeah, I was expecting that. My sister pretty much never backs up anything despite what I tell her. Is it possible that since she uses the SSD as a scratch disk for Photoshop and Lightroom that the constant writing to and from the SSD shortened the life span? Pretty unlikely since it hasn't even been in use for that long, but just a thought. I wish it were, I've tried several SATA data cables and a couple of other working SATA power cables, no dice on any of them.
  3. So I had a 120gb Samsung 840 SSD, Ended up getting two 120gb 840 Evos and formatted the old 840 and put it into my sister's 2011 13" Macbook Pro as the OS drive. It's been running in that laptop for a little over a year, and I think it now decided it wanted to die. Her MBP only boots to a white screen with only the SSD plugged into it, and booting off the standard 320gb drive is slower than hell. She had some relatively important photos on the SSD and I was hoping to recover them, but the drive seems totally unresponsive. Plugged it into my desktop, tried to run HFSExplorer to access the drive. It doesn't even recognize the drive. Ran Crystal Disk and it's reporting back with this: So the drive is pretty much unresponsive and seems like it's barely online. Both my PC and her MBP report back with ~1.0gb capacity. I'm trying to contact Samsung since it's still under warranty, hopefully it's covered. In the mean time, is there anything else I can try to see if I can get any data off of it? or am I completely SOL? Thanks!

  5. The trim looks nice as well as having a pretty good battery life. Also having signatures on the bottom is a pretty nice touch too.
  6. I really like the big resolution and the sleek design of it, the small bezel looks amazing, and it seems like this phone has a lot of ingenuity in it, lots of options that you can change. And changing from photo to video quickly looks great since I do that quite often.
  7. Always loved the front facing speakers, but I really like the Ultrapixel cameras that they've been using, and the depth camera helps to add a creative touch to pictures.

    My R4

Wow. This is miles better than my build. This thing is super incredible and it just looks incredibly clean.
  9. Wow this is really cool, I kinda wish I had put more of a color scheme to my build. Does the modded H60 provide any benefits or is it purely for aesthetics?
  10. Thanks for the kind words guys! I tried my best for my first build, but one I wasn't sure how to get a color scheme working without pushing my budget farther than I had. I'll try to work on that later on though.
  11. Well, I don't have any build process pictures since I was too tired to think about taking pictures. I put it all together about 2 months ago and I had never built a computer before. Specs: i7 3770k OC at 4.6 GHz Idle: 20*C Load under stress testing: 78*C Load under normal use: 68-70*C ASRock z77 Extreme4 Corsair H80i Corsair Vengeance LP 16 GB 1600 MHz Samsung 840 series 120 GB Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB Some random Seagate HDD from my old Dell 144 GB EVGA GTX 670 Superclocked Can't seem to find a stable OC since it's already factory OCed XFX 550W Cable management is UGLYYYYYY on the backside. I don't know how else to fix it. LG optical drive Windows 7 Professional 64bit Fractal Design R4 in Arctic White Any criticism or what I could do to improve would be very helpful as this is my first build and I'm not overly educated. This isn't the final location of the computer, it's in a horrible spot right now because my room isn't ready to move in to yet. Sorry for the cell phone pictures, I don't have access to my T2i right now. I'll have better photos when I finish revamping my room.
