  1. Actually Cortana can be turned off. You just have to do it differently in the update. The article you read had a very click bait title.
  2. Ok, I am sorry guys I am not the most tech savvy person out there. If I am currently on Win7 and already signed up for the upgrade to Win10, does this effect me in anyway? Or is this more for people building new computers? So they don't have to purchase a full copy of the OS?
  3. Thanks for putting this giveaway together, good luck to everyone! But I hope I win lol.
  4. This is my story of how I found Linus videos. It was about 2-3 years ago I was wanting to upgrade my graphics card in my computer, since all I had was integrated. I remember googling around trying to find a good card for the price and something that would work with my system. Mind you, at this time I knew absolutely nothing about computers. I knew how to turn them on and do everyday task type things, but that was it. So I spent about 2-3 weeks just trying to Google and learn what I could about video cards. After some time I had narrowed down my list of video cards that I wanted, and upon googling a certain video card (GTX 560ti) I saw a video as a top result. It was made by some guy named LinusTechTips and some guy named "Camaraguy," also this Linus fellow had a very, shall we say, distinguishing voice. I started watching more videos and realized this guy was answering mostly every question I had. So eventually I ended up buying my first quality video card because of Linus (Asus GTX 560ti). Fast forward about a year, I wanted to upgrade my system again this time I wanted to upgrade my CPU. Again I have to remind you that I don't know much about computers. I knew some stuff about video cards from my research the prior year, but that was about it. So going into this I thought, oh I will just pick a new CPU have someone stick it into my rig and be done with it. Well I was sorely mistaken. My computer at the time was a Dell pre-built computer, and if you know anything about those systems if you want to upgrade anything you generally have to upgrade everything. So I spent the next few months learning everything I could about computer hardware, and a lot of that time was spent watching Linus videos. By the time I picked out the parts that I wanted for my new computer I felt I had a decent understanding on computer hardware. So after countless hours researching, learning, and watching Linus videos I purchased my first custom built rig, and I feel I did a pretty good job for not knowing ANYTHING just a few months prior. (My rig was an i5 2500k overclocked to 4.6, Asus P8z68-V LX mobo, Coolermaster hyper 212 plus cpu cooler, Asus GTX 560ti, wraped up in a Coolermaster HAF 912 case) So Linus, I would like to thank you and your team, you guys have taught me just about everything I know about computers. Do I know everything and am I some sort of computer savant now, of course not. But it feels good having friends come to me with computer questions and being able to answer them. I have helped friends pick out computer parts, fix computer problems, and even build computers for friends all thanks to Linus! I feel like I have been a long time viewer of your content, and I plan to continue watching for as long as you keep making content. Thanks for everything you do and keep up the hard work!
  5. I just want to post a quick update to this post in case anyone ever reads this thread. This Dac/Amp is amazing, I have really been enjoying it. The only thing I would recommend is that you buy a separate USB to mini-USB cord, since the one that comes with it is very very short. So if you want to set this Dac on your computer desk get a longer cord, but if you have it just sitting on your computer the length should be fine.
  6. I personally have these coming in the mail the next couple days. So obviously I cant personally attest to how good these are. But they seem to have great reviews everywhere I look. http://www.amazon.com/SoundMAGIC-Noise-Isolating-Earphones-Black/dp/B005HP3PNM/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1396677449&sr=1-2&keywords=soundmagic+e10
  7. I personally have these coming in the mail in the next couple days. Good reviews and seems to have a really solid build quality. http://www.amazon.com/SoundMAGIC-Noise-Isolating-Earphones-Black/dp/B005HP3PNM/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1396677449&sr=1-2&keywords=soundmagic+e10
  8. Okay thanks for the verification. It seemed to be solid for the price, just wanted to double check.
  9. Is this a good alternative to the Fiio E10? I am looking for something in this price range, and I stumbled across this. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009WN7QT4/?tag=linustechtips If you have any other suggestions let me know, thanks!
  10. Good choice. I personally have the Blue Snowball, and it is a great mic, don't get me wrong. But I do wish I had the mute and volume controls that the Yeti has, they are just so handy to have.
  11. I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but if you right click one of the color inputs on the bottom, you will get an option to reassign that input.
  12. Man I am so jealous of this! You pay 36$ for 60/60, and where I live in the states I pay 110$ for 25/6. So you are getting more than double the speed for almost 3 times less money!
  13. I said the same thing when I started playing WoW back in 2005. Said I could just stop playing whenever, well 6 years later I was finally able to quit. No other game has ever done that to me. So yes, it is very addicting, especially if it is your first time playing the game.
  14. Awesome thanks for the heads up. Sorry, it was my first time ever updating my bios, so I wasn't sure.
