  1. Simple solution that I've been doing for years. Skip to 5 seconds in when you click the video. Click out of the video when the content ends. No ads.
  2. Edited my commend haha. I decided to go for the air cooler just in-case shit hits the fan. Hue hue.
  3. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll go with the Noctua cooler for reliability. Cheers.
  4. I must say that aesthetics are a huge plus for me and bulky air coolers aren't the best for that. However, if need be, I'll buy the nh-d15 mentioned above.
  5. Hey folks, Recently, I've been looking to update my PC to an AIO water cooler for the Threadripper 16-core I will soon get. I will mainly be using this system for 3D rendering in Max and VRay along with UE4. As a result, these long sessions of 100% CPU usage (potentially 2+ hours) has pushed me to buy a cooler to fit my needs. After doing some research, I have found that AIO liquid coolers often have pump failures after 8-12 months and 1-2 weeks of down time could kill a contract for me if I have to get a cooler RMA'd. I found this was true on the H100i (gtx and v2) and the Kraken X62 and X52 which both appear to be popular coolers. Are these reviews just people getting unlucky with faulty pumps or is this is a serious issue I should be considering?
  6. Polaris looks pretty darn badass. It would be awesome to upgrade from my GTX 970.
  7. Temperatures are average and cool down when the clocks drop. It sits around 60C.
  8. Hello everyone, My friend's GTX 980 Ti has been acting up recently while gaming. While monitoring the clocks and usage in GPU-Z, he noticed that the GPU under-clocked to 2D levels and usage dropped to 1%. The games then continue to give him one fps making a completely unplayable experience. We have already disabled the overclock on both the ram and gpu along with fiddling with settings in both the Nvidia control panel and Msi Afterburner. Any ideas?
  9. I believe that the similarities between the R9 290x and R9 390x are due to them being on the same architecture. Correct me if I am wrong.
  10. This subject has been a hot debate for a while now and most people seem to say that the R9 390x barely performs better than the R9 290x. The R9 390x does perform better by about 7-10 fps in most situations. Witcher 3: R9 290x: 50.5 fps R9 390x: 57.4 fps To see the full review of the card click here. I agree with Linus that AMD really should have put the 300 series on a new architecture rather than using an old one. However, I don't agree with Linus when he calls it "a rebrand." Clearly, AMD has made changes to the card other than the extra 4gb of VRam added. We can see that from the benchmark in the link above. I am not saying that I am okay with AMD just making a few changes and calling it a new card but I don't think we should be bashing on them for it since the R9 390x is up there with the GTX 980 at a much lower price tag. With the new 14nm manufacturing coming out soon, AMD also might be using this as an opportunity to take full advantage of it with a better architecture and so on. Tell me what you think about the card. Please don't start any flame wars because that is no fun. This is just meant to be a simple debate. ;D
  11. You can view my planed build here: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/qpHRMp I will be putting in a R9 280x in the future. What do you guys think case wise? I am trying to keep this budget based so if the price is under $65 that is great. I really like the Zalman Z series cases. What is the difference between the Z3 Plus, Z5 Plus, and the Z9 Plus? Thanks for your feedback! ~Mega
  12. Sorry about that. I am new to the site.
  13. 2k-8k automatic material creation using quixel suite. Editing 2k-8k textures in photoshop. Over 1 million polygon models in 3dsmax. Over 6 million polygons in ZBrush.
  14. Think about it like this. There are hundreds of different screens on the market. There are only less than 50 phones on the market. The phones are massed produced even more than the screens therefore making it cheaper. The accuracy of the of the machines for making the crazy ppi is not a big deal for the manufacturers. The amount of material is way less making it even cheaper.
