  1. I would recommend blocking the addresses then if metered connection isn't doing it for you. As you are on a home edition reg edit or GPO won't work.
  2. I would try blocking the addresses i listed above in the build-in firewall, If you wanna try another thing you can edit your local group policy. gpedit - computer configuration - administrative templates - windows components - windows update - configure automatic updates - and select disable I haven't tested this on a computer not in a domain, but i don't see why it wouldn't work still.
  3. Block these: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com http://*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com https://*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com http://*.update.microsoft.com https://*.update.microsoft.com http://*.windowsupdate.com http://download.windowsupdate.com http://download.microsoft.com http://*.download.windowsupdate.com http://test.stats.update.microsoft.com http://ntservicepack.microsoft.com
  4. I don't know the exact numbers, but it would depend on how much your PC just sits in Idle. disabling all but C0 (C0= full power state) means your CPU will stay at max frequency all the time, its very common for people that want to OC as high as possible disable c-states due to the CPU going from a idle state to full with a OC can give you BSOD.
  5. my older, 3770k had this issue too, at first i tried disabling all power saving features in windows as those can cause this issue, ended up having to disable C-states in bios for it to get fixed proper, downside of disabling C-states is that your cpu will never go into power saving mode so you end up using quite alot more electricity
  6. looks like a neat little thing, do want
  7. I would buy a nvidia shield for my dad, he used to play alot of games, but now that hes gotten sick he can't sit infront of a pc anymore. http://www.amazon.com/NVIDIA-SHIELD-Pro-STREAMING-ADVANCED-GAMING/dp/B00XO7AK1U/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1449246315&sr=1-6&keywords=nvidia+shield
  8. just had another crash with the same error, but its the first one since yesterday, so removing sound drivers did have some impact.
  9. still no crashes after removing realtek sound drivers and running with generic windows ones, that does seem to have fixed it
  10. same issue with different asus board. Asus z170-a 6700k 32g Corsair Vengence LPX 2133 SSD OZC vertex 4 (from old setup) Win10 pro Ive tried all bioses available for my mobo even, ill try using generic sound drivers and hope that helps
