  1. Hello all, I'm faced with a time sensitive issue where I have to choose either the x470 Asrock Taichi Ultimate or the x470 Asus Hero VII. I will be using the 2700x cpu, if I only plan to my using memory speeds up to 3400 then wouldn't the Taichi Ultimate be the better board considering it comes with wifi, bluetooth, and 10 gig ethernet? The Asus Hero VII seems to have more rear panel USB connectors, but other than that and a slightly better bios as well as liquid nitrogen support (which I only plan to use an all in one cooler) I don't see it being that much better for me? Which one would be the better choice? I plan to be gaming, streaming + gaming, minor work, hope to use bluetooth, maybe wifi, definitely 10gig one day once I get a 10 gig switch. But is the Asrock bios really that much worse than the Asus bios? Are there many bugs that will make me regret owning the Taichi Ultimate over the Asus Hero VII for overclocking?
  2. The review you gave me is a 15 inch laptop, not looking for a 15 inch
  3. "We check the temperatures of the inner components by running Prime95 and FurMark. The CPU can no longer use its full Turbo after less than a minute. However, about 2.8 GHz cannot be criticized. We are not that happy with the core temperature of up to 91 °C. The GPU even slightly throttles under full load. The maximum core temperature is 80 °C according to HWMonitor. Although the test model cannot impress with its full performance in such extreme scenarios, it is still willing to work hard." From http://www.notebookcheck.net/Nexoc-G734III-Clevo-P670RS-G-Notebook-Review.174030.0.html While the review for the x7 v6 says only 90c on the i7 6780 with no throttling
  4. I would really love to buy that, I would be willing to even. But after reading some bad user experiences with the 14 inch razer blade with a 1060 with over heating issues, I don't understand how a 1080 is going to do any better in a similar size chassis Also the battery life must be about 2 hours for regular use no?
  5. Yeah, long story short she doesn't want a desktop at all. I plan to get her one eventually but first I'm trying to at least show her the potential of gaming on the PC with a laptop since she wanted me to get her a laptop. I was looking a lot into the MSi stealth pro, I was trying to look through various forums if people made any inquiry about throttling or overheating. I didn't really come to any concrete conclusion about that, would you know by any chance if the new MSI Stealth pro laptops with the gtx 1060 have any overheating/throttling issues?
  6. Hey everyone, I'm trying to purchase a gaming laptop that is: 1) Thin where lighter the weight the better while at least having a gtx 1060 graphics card. Ideally about 5-6 lbs, maybe willing to drop down to a 15.6 inch screen 2) Obviously I wouldn't want the laptop to throttle and can deal with the heat for long periods of gaming. 3) If possible, it would be great to have a 120 hz screen. But I'm worried that by having a 120 hz screen that the color and brightness wouldn't be anywhere near on par with IPS screens, or has that changed much since 2011 since I last looked? 4) Also does G-sync really make a difference? I've never experienced it for myself before and don't even play games with v-sync, would I instantly notice a vast improvement with a g-sync screen? 5) Battery life is somewhat of a concern, the laptop is for my girlfriend who is about 5'3 and 100 lbs and is in school so she will be moving around a bit during the day from class to class. 6) If just watching movies, tv shows and playing games with a gtx 1060 or 1070 then there's no reason to have a higher resolution than 1080p on a 15-17 inch screen right? 7) Ideally I would like the laptop not to be too loud with the fans when gaming, if that's possible So those are my biggest 7 concerns, if anyone here has been through a similar experience I'm currently going through now, please feel free to advise what laptop I should look into getting. My budget is about $3000 USD So far I've been looking at: A) "New Razer Blade" 14 inch with gtx 1060 B) MSI GS73VR Stealth Pro C) ASUS ROG STRIX GL702 D) Aorus X7 v6 I'm not aware of what really else is within my criteria, if anyone would know please help suggest them. I would really appreciate it Also, if any of the 4 models I have suggested so far don't fit within my criteria that I have mentioned of what I'm looking for then please let me know.
