  1. Alright, I will take a look at your suggestions.
  2. Visual Studio is very good but very expensive too. I have Visual Studio but that's because where I study we get it for free (DreamSpark) for the time we are studying there. You could use CodeBlocks, it's a free open source program. It's also a bit harder to use though. So I would say stick with Visual Studio. Besides with Visual Studio you can code in other languages and create websites too.
  3. So what did you have to say?
  4. The price is the problem. The canadian dollar is really low right now and I saw that Newegg (the canadian site) had that laptop at 2300$ canadian...
  5. Thanks for the suggestion but I'd rather buy a new laptop.
  6. I've never heard of Eurocom before... But yeah I defenetily don't need a GTX 980M. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
  7. Hey guys! I'm looking to buy a new laptop for my studies (I'm studying in computer sciences). I did the first year and a half without a laptop but for the next years I feel like a laptop would be really useful. I'm looking for a laptop that has an i7 in it (Skylake preferably) some good graphic capabilities but not too high-end (I already have a gaming desktop) and an SSD in it. I also want to pay under 2000$ canadian. So far I came up with the Asus ROG GL552VW and I've seen mixed reviews. Some say it's really good, others say it's ok and some say it's terrible. I wanted your guys opinion on it. Do some of you own this laptop? And what do you think about it? Maybe you guys can give me suggestions too. I will also keep looking on my part too. Thanks for the help!
  8. Hey guys! I haven't used Oracle's Virtualbox for almost a year now and I have a question. When you install Ubuntu in a virtual machine, is it safe to click on "Erase disk and install Ubuntu" ? Will it just wipe the virtual hard drive I made or will wipe my entire real hard drive? I'm just not sure and I certainly don't want to erase everything! Thanks in advance!
  9. So what you are telling me is that if I just wait a bit for the kernel for Skylake processors to come out I should be fine?
  10. Hey guys, I was wondering if Linux works well on an Intel NUC. If it does work, could there be versions that don't work? Because I don't want to install Ubuntu, Fedora or Mint if it won't work. Thanks in advance!
  11. I have a 4GB GTX 960 and I max out all my games (almost all my games) at 1080p. I think it's a good buy.
  12. Hi everyone, I just wanted to know what programs you guys use for making backups. I don't have anything of great importance on my computer, I mostly just have games wich I can redownload from Steam if something ever happened to my drive. Still I want to be able to make a backup of my stuff. So what do you guys recommend? Or do some of you prefer to do it without any software? Thanks for the help!
  13. Wow... Your post made me remember that cover was a thing... I feel kinda stupid. Thanks for the help!
  14. I feel you bro.
