  1. I have a friend who needs a cheap laptop for his children to do school work online. Are there any worthwhile new laptops in that price range (preferably after tax)? If not, where would be the best places to look for refurbished/used laptops?
  2. When unplugging everything on the back in order to take out the motherboard, I found that the connector had been broken. This is probably the problem and I've already emailed ASRock customer support. Hopefully this is the only problem and I don't need to deal with taking my computer apart.
  3. In the picture, the silver box is what the antenna is plugged into. The only wires coming off of the box are those tiny red and black wires that go into a little white thing. I don't think there is anything I can disconnect.
  4. No, there was no power outage between the time it worked and didn't work, I only put my computer on sleep mode for about an hour and when I turned it back on the WiFi didn't work. The wireless adapter is built into the motherboard so I can't unplug it but I can unplug the antenna box if that would do anything.
  5. I built my computer around late May - early June, and a few weeks ago my computer just stopped connecting to WiFi. My motherboard is the ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming ITX, which has onboard WiFi. The day that it happened I moved the antenna (which is a little box) from behind my computer to on top of my computer to increase speed, which it immensely did... for the time being. When I powered my computer back on only about an hour later from sleep mode, the WiFi just completely stopped working. I didn't move the computer, antenna, anything, during this time. I've done everything I could think of to fix it, from deleting the Intel Wireless thing from Device Manager, turning my computer on and off, etc. What could possibly have gone wrong? It's getting really frustrating using my small laptop for everything.
  6. Would a Metallic Gear Neo Mini be better for cooling? I'm considering switching.
  7. So I've ordered the H200, and the last part that I need to buy is a graphics card. I'm looking at possibly getting a 1080 Ti used from eBay, but I'm wondering if the thermals would be bad. I ordered an ATX PSU but I could possibly return it and buy an SXF PSU if it would make a significant enough difference. If I didn't get a 1080 Ti I would probably get a 2070, but the 1080 Ti's seem to be a much better deal.
  8. I was initially planning on putting my GTX 980 in it for the time being until GPU prices are more in check, but I found out that with an AIO installed the clearance isn't big enough for my 980, so I think I'm going to have to go ahead and buy a new GPU. I'm not very happy about my options though. I don't know if the RTX 2060 is enough of an upgrade from the 980, but the 2070 (which is more in the price range that I'm willing to spend) doesn't seem to have a significant enough difference in performance over the 2060 for the price.
  9. There is ventilation in the same spot of the case in the H200, and it also looks like there is more space between the GPU and the shroud in the H200 compared the Evolv. The Evolv is also 34 liters compared to 26 liters for the H200. Why would it be much different?
  10. I have, but unfortunately I don't know if there are any available that would fit in the NZXT H200 with a 240mm AIO. I think the clearance for the GPU is about 270-275mm and two slots. Also don't know how hot it would run in a small case.
  11. 1080p 144hz. As I said I would keep my 980 for the time being but it won't fit in my new case (I'm downsizing so my computer is easier to bring back and forth between college and home).
  12. I'm building a new computer and have ordered everything but the graphics card. I currently have a GTX 980 and I budgeted out about $500-550 for a new GPU, but from what I've seen the RTX 2070 isn't really impressing me a whole lot compared to the 2060. Should I just go for the 2060 for $380 or is it worth the $500 for the 2070? I would keep my 980 until I see what Navi brings but unfortunately I don't think it will fit in my new case after I install the AIO. I'd probably be keeping this GPU for at least 3-4 years.

Would like any recommendations for last minute changes. I liked the look of the H200 when I saw it at Microcenter but if anyone thinks there is a better ITX case for not too much more that can do watercooling then I am open to opinions. I was also wondering if the storage looked good, or if I should change the drives or flip the capacities. I am planning on keeping my GTX 980 for the time being, possibly hoping Navi is good or may bring prices for RTX cards down, but I may end up buying one sooner rather than later if it doesn't seem worth waiting. The 2070 would be right about my price range but I have seen people saying it isn't worth the price over the 2060. I would love a 2080 but it costs a little too much, imo.
  14. I'm building a new PC here soon and I just ordered and received an i7 8700k and the ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ac ($160 for MOBO and $355 for CPU after combo discount). I'm having second thoughts about whether I made the right choice or if I should have gone with a Ryzen 2700/2700x instead. It would probably end up saving me at least around $100. I currently have an i7 4770k but the RAM slots on the motherboard are broken and I want to downsize my case (which are my reasons for upgrading), if this is at all pertinent information. Any suggestions for what I should do? I would wait for Ryzen 3 but I'm getting annoyed by not having a computer.
  15. 1. Back in January, I got an update on Windows 10 without my permission that totally messed up my internet connection. My internet wouldn't connect at all. It even showed my wi-fi in the internet access part with bars, but clicking on it would always result in a failure to connect. Since then I figured out that unplugging my router and plugging it back in would connect my computer to the internet, but the router is not on my desk near me. It's a pain in the ass to go unplug and plug the router back in. A little while ago, my internet would be connected upon start up maybe half of the time, but now it is never connected on start up. Also, it is just my computer that is having this problem. No other computer in my house has any trouble connecting automatically. Does anyone know how to fix this? 2. I can never open Steam if I don't open it upon startup. If I open it on start up, I will have to open offline because my computer never connects to my internet on start up. I can click the app as many times as I want, but Steam won't open. I have already seen suggestions such as go onto the task manager to see if it's running, but it's not. It just won't connect. Does anybody know how to fix this? 3. I've been trying to play Portal 2, but once I get try loading up my save, it crashes. Rarely it might load, but soon after it will crash. I used to be able to play it on my an iMac before I built my computer, but on this computer, I haven't been able to play it. I have verified the cache, which worked for some people (not for me), and I've reinstalled it, but it didn't work. Does anybody know how to fix this?
  16. I forgot to say that I did that, too.
  17. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I've been trying to load Portal 2 on my computer but when I select continue game, it always crashes. Before I got my current computer, I was able to play fine on an iMac, but on my computer, which is very much capable of running the game (i7 4790k, GTX 980), I can't get past loading the level. I have verified the game cache, which I saw worked for some people, but it didn't help a thing for me. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
  18. In the device manager, under Network adapters, it lists: Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) Qualcomm Atheros AR938x Wireless Network Adapter TAP Adapter V9 for Private Tunnel TAP-Windows Adapter V9 Do this help?
  19. I am running Windows 10 Pro. I've been trying to find my manuals for all of my computer parts but I'm not having luck right now, so I don't remember what wireless adapter I have. Is there a way to check on my computer? I have no idea if Windows Update would have updated the drivers. I just tried to type in that command but it is saying "The requested operation requires elevation (Run as administrator)." I assumed I was the administrator, since I'm the only one who uses this computer. How do I make it so I am?
  20. Last night I left my computer on which I don't usually do and it started updates without my permission. I got up this morning and my computer isn't connected to my wifi. I tried putting in my password but it won't work. I've tried looking for solutions but nothing is working. Can someone help?
  21. When I saw this on Reddit I was so happy because they live in Cincinnati (well, they live across the river in Kentucky but here that's the same thing as Cincinnati).
