  1. Do you mean the front panel switch on the case being wired to corresponding plug on the motherboard?
  2. I built a new PC this past week and this problem popped up straight away but a simple change in the power settings regarding a wireless adapter fixed it. Unfortunately it has come back and now nothing I do seems to do have an effect, I removed the wireless adapter but the problem still happens. I am running Windows 10 and I've seen a lot of videos of how to fix this but none of them show anything I haven't already tried. I have gone through everything in the power settings and made sure nothing has permission to wake the PC as this seemed to fix it last time but it's still happening. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Hello everyone, I was looking to upgrade about a year ago but I didn't feel the price was quite there for what I was after but now it looks like I can get what I want with the budget in mind. The primary focus of this build is for streaming and video editing, I also play games on my PC but nothing crazy, I'm very happy at 1080p 60FPS and can even do 1440p on my current build so as long as this could handle streaming as well as 1080/60 I'm fine. Fortunately I don't need an entirely new build, I already have a GPU, monitor, PSU, case and won't need any hard drives so I'm just looking at CPU, MB and RAM. Below is what I'm currently looking at: Mobo - Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero AM4 RAM - G.SKILL F4-3000C16Q-32GTZR 32 GB CPU - AMD YD2600BBA Ryzen 5 2600 This is similar to a few build recommendations I've seen and am just looking for any other advice or recommendations people more experienced with streaming focused builds have. Thanks in advance for any help.
  4. Thanks for the recommendations, this gives me a great base to start. Quick question regarding RAM, is 64GB necessary? What would be the main benefit for that? I'm guessing navigating through video files while rendering would be really snappy and responsive. Regarding the CPU I notice there is a 2700x 8 core version which base speed is slightly higher but almost double the price. I'm assuming the performance difference is not equal to the price jump?
  5. I am not opposed to buying used if it's a viable option. The only thing I'll be carrying over from my old machine is the case and my main storage drives. That's what I was thinking regarding M.2, I would just get one for windows and basic applications but that's it. Are there any particular ones that are highly regarded? Is there a specific Ryzen CPU you had in mind? I have really not kept in the loop with new CPU tech so any recommendations would be very much appreciated. Is there a minimum core/speed I should be looking at? Thank you both for your help.
  6. Hello everyone, The time has come where my current PC just isn't fast enough anymore and it's old enough that upgrading isn't really an option for what I'm after but I haven't really kept up with PC hardware much recently and am looking for some help. 1. Budget & Location I live in the UK and I'd like to get this under £700-£800 if possible. I won't need a monitor, keyboard, mouse or case. I honestly don't know enough about GPU acceleration for video rendering but I currently have a 1070. 2. Aim Video production, 1080p 60fps. I will be using this for video capture as well and gaming but video production is the main focus. I rarely game on my PC anymore but if I don't have to compromise much on the video production side and still game then that's great. I have been using SSD's for a while now and have become very used to quick boot times but I don't know if M.2 drives are really worth it. Any information on this would be appreciated. Is it really worth going with M.2 for anything other than my boot drive? 3. Monitors I already have a 4K monitor which I'm very happy with so won't be need anything additional. 4. Peripherals I don't need anything in this department either, very happy with my mouse and keyboard, speakers, headset etc. 5. Why are you upgrading? I have started video production and streaming far more than I did when I first built my computer. It can handle it fine but I would really like to increase the speed at which I can create content and the general navigation of video while editing is slower than I would like. If I have missed anything please let me know and/or if you have more specific questions. Thanks in advance.
  7. I tried removing the battery and leaving it out for over 30 minutes. Wasn't as much of a head ache as I thought it would be. Unfortunately that still hasn't fixed the issue. The two ports are still only giving out power and not transferring data Does anyone know where to go from here?
  8. Even though this was caused by updating drivers will removing the battery reset this? I've never messed around with bios/cmos resets before so I apologise if that's a silly question. Thanks again for your help. I'll have a go at that tomorrow. I'm now regretting getting a MOBO with the thermal armour on it lol
  9. I just found a video of someone taking off the amour so at least I have a reference now. Thanks for all the replies though guys, at least now I know where to go from here. Really can't believe they didn't put some kind of cover on it though for easy access. I assume removing the battery will guarantee a complete reset? Is there a specific amount of time to leave it out?
  10. Thanks. I tried the jumper just now and unfortunately it didn't work. Is there no other way around this other than taking the thermal armour off to get at the battery?
  11. Yes I can charge my phone or MP3 player so it's still getting power. I can't see a battery anywhere visible. I have a feeling it may be under the thermal armour on the board. I did find what that does in my manual though. From the manual "This jumper allows you to clear the real time clock (RTC) RAM in CMOS" - is this not the same as resetting the CMOS?
  12. I can't see a button but there is what looks like a cover over 2 pins in a 3 pin array with CLRTC below on it and some settings next to it. I've included a picture if that helps.
  13. Is that in the Bios? I haven't tried that yet though. I did go into my Bios and all the ports are showing as active, not sure if that means anything.
  14. I was going through my USB ports in device manager as two of the ports of my case were not transferring data and I managed to solve that but in the process I have deactivated two of the USB 3 ports on the back of my motherboard. This happened when I was updating their drives. There was 3 items with the name "Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enahanced Host Controller" and now one of them is missing. I tried looking under system devices but could not find it. Can anyone help? I'm really stumped here and don't really know where to go from here. My motherboard is an Asus Sabretooth Z77.
  15. That actually seems quite reasonable to me. Thanks for the info. Out of curiosity what card would be need for high settings at 60FPS? Would the price jump be much higher? Yeah I am a bit but the budget may go up, I'm just trying to get an idea at this point.
  16. I've been going back and forth this past year on whether or not to make the jump from 1080 to 1440p and I think now seems like a good time. This does go beyond just a GPU but I thought this would be a good place to post as my GPU is the harder choice. My current GPU is quite out dated now; a GTX 660ti and my CPU is also pretty old (Intel i5 3570K at stock speed) so I'm wondering if that would need updating as well or would a more powerful graphics card with a CPU overclock be enough? Budget wise I'm looking at somewhere between £250-300. If anyone could recommend a good monitor that would be great too.
  17. This issue first came about when I tried to play an old PS1 game through my PS2 which was connected to capture setup which is Elgator game capture HD (not the 60FPS model). PS2 and original X Box games work fine but the PS1 games give me the out of range message. I am familiar with what this error means however I was wondering if anyone has found a way to get around it so the image can be displayed? I recently got my orginal Sega Megadrive connected to it as well and would love to start creating videos for those games. Thanks in advance for any help
  18. Unfortunately the fans share one cable so I can't separate them without dismantling the cable which is something I don't really want to do.
  19. Thanks. That is the perfect set to go with the colour scheme I want as well.
  20. That was one of the first sets I came across when searching but it's not listed in the boards manual as compatible. Does it actually work? My current RAM is 52.5mm high and I can't check at the moment but I would say I need at least an extra 10mm. Deepcool frostwin. It's not actually the heatsink that's the issue, it comes with two rather bulky fans and I don't have the parts to mount any of my other fans to it. Thanks for all the responses guys
  21. I recently got a new cooler for my CPU for the intention of doing a little over clocking however when I went to install I found that my current RAM is too tall to allow clearence. One thing that is making this a little more difficuly is that I am also for either black or white (preferably white) RAM to match a GPU I recently painted white to go with a black and white theme. My current kit is 8GB but if there is an option that is more I wouldn't mind the extra boost. Could anyone recommend something? Thanks in advance
  22. Thanks I did this and tested the vibration and got nothing unfortunately. Hopefully it's just one of those quirks that will correct itself.
  23. Thanks for the replies everyone, very much appreciated. It doesn't unfortunately. Even when alarms sound there's no vibration. I don't know how to do that. I haven't changed the rom, had the phone just under 18 months and this is the first big issue I've had with it. That sounds like a big task, the HTC one seems designed to not be opened. I'd rather not risk that kind of fix to be honest, unless it's easier than I presume it to be. Sorry to be a total phone noob but I assume you mean the number dialer?
  24. This is really puzzling, just happened out of the blue. Phone has always been set to vibrate profile and all of a sudden no longer works. I've tried the obvious things I can think of such as rebooting the phone, leaving it powered off for a while and clearing the system but it still won't work. Has anyone else encountered this issue?
  25. I've seen ones like that while looking but again there isn't a consistent opinion on them. Some say they're perfect while others say they are terrible.
