Haha, I actually kind of like Linux. It's improving every day, and hopefully, Vulkan will improve performance quite a bit. I guess it's all down to personal preference though. Thanks for the suggestions!

First of all, thank you for the suggestions! I really wish I could have gone with an R9 380; however, it wasn't out at the time, and with AMD not performing well under Linux, it sadly wasn't much of an option. I really wish I could have gone with that though. SSD would be pretty nice. Thanks! Thanks for the rating haha.

Hello! So, I recently acquired a new keyboard/headset, and it gave me the idea to post my PC build/peripherals and ask other forum members what they thought of my setup, what they would rate it, what they would improve, and what they thought as a price/performance ratio. So, without further a due, what do you guys think of it? Specs are as followed. Keep in mind that I bought these parts on Black Friday of 2014 (I bought the GPU on my birthday, recieved the keyboard, mouse, and headset as a gift, but everything else I bought on Black Friday of 2014.), so prices may have been different from now! Also keep in mind that I already own this. CPU: Intel Core i3 4150 @3.5GHz ($99) Mobo: ASRock H97M Anniversary ($59) Ram: Kingston Fury HyperX Black 8GB DDR3 @1866MHz ($60) GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 G1 Gaming 2GB GDDR5 ($209) PSU: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ($27) HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB (Free) HDD Western Digital Caviar Blue 160GB (Free) Case: Lian Li PC-50 (Free) OS: Linux Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS (Free) Monitor: Acer P221w 21.5" 1680x1050 60Hz (Free) Headset: Kingston Fury HyperX Clouds ($59) Razer Deathadder 3.5G ($35) Keyboard: Cooler Master Storm Quickfire Rapid w/ Cherry MX Blues ($65) Total for PC Alone: Around $454. Typing on my new mechanical keyboard at the moment! It's a Cooler Master Storm Quickfire Rapid TKL keyboard with Cherry MX Blue switches. I have to say, I honestly don't think I can go back to a regular rubber-dome keyboard after using this thing. The best thing about it is that it seems to work perfectly in Linux! (at least in my testing.)

What tech related items did you get for Christmas?

Arkansas, Virgnia, Colorado, and Alaska. Utah is nice too. Most of those states have my favorite mountains in the U.S. .

How old were you when you built your own pc?

Pshhhh, 3. -
I don't really have one as of right now. I'm mainly asking if getting a 1080p IPS display now would be better or waiting a few years and getting a 4K monitor when it comes time to upgrade my system.
