Hahaha, I am kind of thinking that Nena360, not only for the dx12 fiasco, but it has just been so long since i've owned an ATI... ahem... AMD video card, that I am wanting to go get back with em to see how it is.

Its just that nagging thought in the back of my head, do I get I high end AMD GPU for my main rig, or a lesser mid ranged AMD GPU for the secondary rig i'm building. I wont be playing AAA titles on the secondary rig, so I wont be getting an X for that for sure!

I really dont want to wait on building my secondary rig just because im going to be using it in conjunction with my work CPU setup (just to have a 2nd work station to watch twitch, play moba's, netflix, ect) and I want that to be up and running ASAP

But sinking money into the 390x at this moment for my main rig, and possibly xfiring it down the road, just dosnt seem like a wise decision right now (just a 290x w more memory)

So, still a bit hazy, but I think you may have nailed this one Nena360, just getting a regular AMD 390 for my secondary rig and leaving my main gaming rig with the 2x GTX 770 SLI until more info is released about Nvidia and dx12.

I want to mark as answered, but I still want to hear more opinions on what you guys would do / think

Yeah, i just don't want to see a downgrade in graphicds on my main rig by ditching the 770 sli i currently have.
But one option i have not explored is not upgrading the gpus on my main rig, and just buying a mid grade card for the new pc...

To be honest, I would wait to see what happens with the DX12 before doing anything. If you need something now, I would recommend the 390x because of Nvidia's DX12 controversy.
