  1. My router is the TG862, I guess it's technically a gateway/router thingy.... not sure the exact tech names for this stuff; http://surfboard.com/products/tg862/ So when I was at my desktop, I had my dad's old 7 year old Asus laptop sitting right next to the XPS. Both were running a twitch live stream and the XPS would buffer constantly while the asus didn't. I also had my Ipad run the stream and my G2 run the stream at the same distance and none of them buffered at all. And like I said, I took the wireless adapter and tried it for the XPS and disabled the integrated killer wireless card and it didn't help at all. I also put the adapter in the Asus laptop and my desktop and both of them worked fine with no buffering while using the adapter.
  2. Okay, so going around my house the signal is at -65 sitting at my desktop, going right next to the router I'm getting -30, and in my bedroom I get about -35. I've experienced the drops in my bedroom quite a few times, the most at have been at my desktop when I have my XPS next to me, and I've even experienced them a few times when I had my XPS right next to the router. The only other signal I'm receiving is xfinitywifi which was the same strength as my main wifi signal and this connection signal has been there since comcast installed our internet. All the way at -90 is what I'm guessing is my neighbors wifi signal too.
  3. Thanks, I'll give that a go now.
  4. I am experiencing an issue where connection is dropping on my XPS 15 9560 (i5, 256gb, 8GB, 4k) which I've had not even a week. It seems that the farther I'm away from my router the worse the small dropouts occur. But the problem isn't with the distance or my router because my tablet, phone, 7 year old asus laptop, and my desktop do not experience any drops at the same distance. In normal web browsing it is not a big issue since a webpage might buffer an extra second to two seconds. This issue is most pertinent in live streams however where constant connection is required and I experience constant buffering regardless of quality setting. I have also tried chrome and edge, both behave the same. What I have tried; Updating Intel HD 630 graphics, updating GTX 1050 drivers, updating killer wireless 1535 drivers, updating dell bios, setting all options in windows power settings to max performance, reinstalling windows. Most strange of all is that I tried a netgear WNA3100 wireless adapter and experienced the same issue, but when I used the adapter on my desktop it worked completely fine. My only guess is that something besides the actual network card is causing issues with the connection, I just don't know and it is incredibly frustrating that I cannot find the issue. Should I try contacting dell, or should I buy an intel wireless card despite the fact that I experience issues with an external adapter anyway? Or maybe I should try getting a different router despite the fact that all my other devices work without any issue at any range in my house. I just don't know. Any suggestions at all would be helpful.
  5. I would recommend the HP Spectre x360 15t 2017 (whew what a name). Comes with a non-pentile 4K display (which is good) and is also a great looking laptop. It's slightly on the heavy side at about 2kg though. Really if want a windows MacBook, the Spectre should fill that role. I got mine for $1300USD, though I'm not sure how much that'll cost you, but it's a cheaper alternative to the XPS 15 at the cost of a dual core i7 6500u which is still powerful and only a GT 940mx. It should be able to run light games at quite acceptable framerates.
  6. I went with the 15 inch. I would ask yourself first, are you looking for a 13 or 15 inch screen. I went into BestBuy and looked at the 13 inch in person and realized it was too small for me. I loved the Spectre though, so I went with the 15 inch which burdens you with more weight and size but gives you a 4K screen, more screen presence, and slightly better keyboard. I haven't actually received my Spectre yet... (on preorder) so keep that in mind if you need a computer now since ordering from HP will give you a delay.
  7. It will be hard to resell something with damage, and we still don't know a lot about the aero 14 in terms of build quality or real world battery performance, (I could be wrong there). But also I don't think you'll be able to resell for a price your happy with. You might be better off keeping it until a whole new breed of laptops are realised. You can wait a year can't ya? The Auros will be plenty fine until then!
  8. They'll be a lot heavier and bulkier than your macbook if your okay with that.
  9. Thanks for the build list, appreciate it being cheap! Will probably go with that.
  10. Greetings. My little brother is getting tired of his FX-6300 and his 270x so I told him lets fix that. Upgrades: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fYJVxr Now, I've built a handful a PC's but haven't really upgraded anything before. My few questions are, do I need to re-install windows? Is a Rosewill Greenseries 430w powersupply enough? (Website says 400w minimum) Lastly, is Skylake the route to take? Sorry I haven't been on the forums lately so my questions may seem ignorant. Also the GTX 960 is a must because of shadowplay.
  11. Except that a 980ti isnt a waste on 1080p considering I have a 144hz monitor and in most AAA games I dont actually hit that mark, but get near it. And OP try and return that PC if you can, you might be able to find something more cost effective or build a PC yourself.
  12. Anyone else have an idea what it could be?
  13. I'll probably end up doing it since Corsair, from what I heard, is good with fulfilling their warranties.
