  1. Sorry for the bump, but I've been having some trouble singling out a monitor to buy, and those still seem to be the only ones who fit what I want. I'm open to other suggestions, as long as they follow my budget and requirements (~€400, 1440p, HFR w/ Freesync or G-Sync if possible)
  2. I currently own a Dell U2518D, which is a 25" 1440p 60hz IPS monitor, and I'm looking into buying a second monitor, if possible with a higher refresh rate and maybe even G-Sync/Freesync, but still 1440p, for around €400. I'm not that concerned about size differences, so either a 24 or 27" would be fine, and also would be okay with a TN panel. The AG241QX seems to fit that pretty closely, but it also seems kinda old. Is there a better option in that price range? I own a 2700X and a RTX 2070 and play almost everything, though mainly Apex Legends and Dota 2, and I don't think I'm able to hit 144 FPS on the first one unfortunately, so I'm also not quite sure if 144Hz would be even usable, though Freesync/G-Sync could help. The AG271QX is around €80 more than the 24" version in my country and seems to be quite well regarded, though I'm not sure if it's simply a size increase over the other model or if it has more significant changes. The S2719DGF seems to also be another option for even less than the AG241QX, but I've read some poor reviews regarding general image quality. As a separate note, are there any issues regarding using Freesync on Nvidia cards while also using two monitors if one of them doesn't support it? Can I still enable it in just one monitor with no issues or are there any limitations?
  3. I mainly want closed backs because I don't want audio leaking, but I also don't like complete isolation, and while I never tried open backs, people say they're better if you listen to music with actual instruments, which I honestly don't, and also their soundstage, which personally isn't massively important, since the games that I play don't benefit much from it. The non-detachable cable is really my only main issue with them, because I like everything else. I already have HM5 velour pads on my Clouds, so swapping them onto a DT770 would be nice, and I'm also considering picking up the sheepskin ones. If they really have the best quality out of the listed ones, while also being cheaper than all of them, I guess I can deal with an extra wire. I do kinda like how easy to remove the ModMic is, compared to unplugging the entire cable like I'd have to do with a BoomPro, since I like to remove the mic when I'm not using it on my current Cloud. The DT770 is really the one pair that keeps getting recommended again and again, and I guess I might have to pick it up. I'm still a bit interested on the WS1100 though, because I can't find that much information about it, and it has almost everything I want. Thank you so much for the reply!
  4. I don't really see the point of doing that to be honest. I'd rather not spend that much on a microphone when all I use it is for ingame chat with friends, and also don't want to waste desk space with it. I don't have a place to install an arm, and would rather not have a desk mic picking up my keyboard. I spend most of my time listening to music, so I'd rather spend more money on better headphones. Probably should have mentioned, but I'm planning on importing them from Amazon. From what I can see, their website only sells for the US and Canada, and they're also the seller on Amazon, instead of Amazon themselves, so no importing unfortunately, which means that's not an option.
  5. Can't find those anywhere, not even on Amazon, which is where I'm going to order them, and if they're above my budget, I guess there's no point on looking for them anyway. Still, thanks for the recommendation!
  6. I've been using a HyperX Cloud for about 3 years, and while I still really like them, I've been considering getting something better. My budget is around $200-300, and I'm looking for closed back headphones, preferably with a removable cable so I can couple it with a V-MODA BoomPro. Being comfortable is a top priority, and having replaceable pads is a huge plus. I mainly listen to electronic music and hip-hop, so a V-shaped or bassy sound would be great. I'm plugging it directly on my PC, but if necessary I'm willing to get an amp for up to $100. The ones I'm considering right now are the AudioTechnica ATH-WS1100, V-MODA Crossfade M-100, Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro and Sennheiser Momentum 2.0, with about that order from the ones I like the most to least from what I've read about them. Another option I've been considering is a DT770, but then I'd need a ModMic instead of a BoomPro, and I'd like as few wires as possible, and even though I've read they're very comfortable, I've also read the upgrade from my Clouds wouldn't be that great, which after comfort, is a priority. Does anyone has experience with the WS1100? It seems to be similar to the MSR7, but with more punchy bass. The MSR7 was another option I was considering, but reviews say it's not that great for the type of music I plan on listening on it.
  7. Sorry about the triple post, but I managed to nail down when exactly the issue happens. I tried shutting down my system multiple times and every single time I booted it back up again, it was working fine, but as soon as I try to use restart instead of shutdown, things break, and doing the Safe Mode DDU clean, reboot and reinstall gets it to work properly again. Can this mean it's an issue with the motherboard or perhaps even the SSD? It's really puzzling me. As an added note, whenever the GPU is in its 'broken' state, for some reason the Sleep option isn't available on the Power menu. EDIT Well, I'm almost sure I fixed it! Did multiples reboots and shutdowns, and all my 3 monitors are working fine on their native res, Heaven Benchmark is working fine and the Device Manager isn't reporting any issues. It was a BIOS problem. I got a friend's monitor with a DVI port (mine is only DisplayPort/HDMI), downloaded Gigabyte's VGA @BIOS tool, downloaded an updated BIOS file from their website (GV-N970WF3OC-4GD F3, I was running GV-N970WF3OC-4GD F2), followed the included instructions, backing up the current BIOS, connecting the DVI cable to DVI-I, flashing the P file, rebooting, connecting the DVI cable to DVI-D, flashing the D file and then rebooting. I also noticed while doing this that the issue wasn't present while using the DVI monitor, but happened as soon as I tried to boot with any of my DP/HDMI monitors, which makes me believe the BIOS was somehow messing with the ports, however, right now I got 2 DP monitors and one HDMI plugged in and I'm being able to reboot and boot up back again without breaking the drivers.
  8. So, just rebooted, and as expected, as I got back on Windows it was broke again, with Device Manager throwing up Code 43, I rebooted into safe mode, ran DDU, when it rebooted I installed the 362.00 driver, it fixed it, I rebooted again, surprise surprise, it broke, ran DDU on safe mode, rebooted, installed 361.91, and the issue is still present. Whenever I reboot the driver breaks, but if I run DDU and reinstall it, it's fixed. I really don't know what's going on.
  9. The issue is happening even on a clean Windows install, with absolutely nothing installed apart from the OS itself and the drivers. I'll look into the NVIDIA driver files, not sure if it will really help but it's definitely worth a shot. Just tried running FurMark and checking values on OC GURU II and GPU-Z, and everything is still running perfectly, and again, I know that if I restart everything will break, but I guess I'll do it anyway just to be sure, and then if/when it breaks, try cleaning everything with DDU and installing an older driver.
  10. Thanks for the replies! I had already tried some older drivers, but they were just a couple of months older than the latest. I will try the versions you recommended and report back. In other news, on (yet another) fresh Windows install, again I got it to work, with all monitors running fine, with MSI Afterburner detecting my card and reporting its status. Currently 38C at 0% usage, Fan RPM 1540, Core clock 900MHz and Memory clock 3500MHz, if any of that matters. I actually even managed to run Fire Strike from beginning to end with no issues whatsoever. Got the GPU to 100% usage and around 60C, with no artifacts or anything of the sort. 9340 score, and the result for that matter: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12518627 That really seals the deal for me on believing the GPU is working fine and the drivers are broken, or as Energycore mentioned, maybe it's something to do with its firmware? And if so, how to even diagnose it and/or fix it? I'm even sort of worried about rebooting because I know it will break again, so I'm not sure if I want to try more stuff like older drivers or just try to get it to work right now with the latest, as at the moment it is again running properly.
  11. I've been running into an issue with my GTX 970, which I own for around a year and a half, since last week, and it's getting me extremely worried. One day I was watching YouTube with no issues, when suddenly my audio devices stopped working, which I found weird, so I restarted, and was greeted to only one monitor working on 800x600. Checked the device manager, and it showed my card with the yellow triangle and 'Error 43'. I tried reinstalling the latest drivers and that seemed to fix it. A couple of days later, after restarting to install a software, the issue happened again, this time it seemed to be a lot harder to get it to work again. I updated my BIOS (I'm on a MSI Z97-G45), refreshed Windows 10, and after lots of different tries, DDU cleaning and reinstalls I got it to work again, and it seemed fine for a while, I was playing Overwatch with no overheating, no artifacts and good framerates. Yesterday, again after another restart, I got the apparently broken drivers again, with the same issue: just one monitor working on 800x600. This time I again tried everything I had tried before: CMOS reset, different slots, DDU cleaning, Windows refresh, different computer, but nothing seemed to work. I then actually got it to work again briefly, uninstalling the device and everything related to NVIDIA, restarting, installing GeForce Experience and letting it update the driver, and again, I got it to work, played Overwatch with no issues, shutdown the system, and today it was broken again. Today I went ahead and wiped clean my drive, with a fresh Windows 10 install with Microsoft's own tool, disabled Windows device installation, installed GeForce Experience, it downloaded and installed the latest driver, all of my monitors turned on, things were working, but as expected, as soon as I rebooted it was back to a single monitor on 800x600. I really don't know what else I can try, or what is actually wrong, because whenever the GPU works, it works flawlessly, but as soon as I reboot everything breaks. I thought it could be Windows, but it's happening on a fresh install, I thought it could be my mobo, but updating it and clearing its CMOS didn't work, I even thought it could be my SSD, but it also happened on a completely different computer. Is it safe to assume the card itself is dead or dying? I really don't want to drop a massive amount of money on a new one without trying everything I can and being sure about the issue.
  12. I've been thinking about building a NAS for quite some time, since I need more storage for backing up lots of work files, and I'm a little bit unsure whether to buy a pre build NAS from Synology for example, or building my own. From what I sorta managed to work out, the build I have in mind would cost around the same as a Synology 2 bay enclosure without any drives, so it would be quite cheaper, although I'm not sure about the performance. It's really just mainly for storage, but if possible, could also probably be used as a media PC. Here are the parts I have in mind from PCPartPicker: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD A4-7300 3.8GHz Dual-Core Processor ($44.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ Mini ITX FM2+ Motherboard ($84.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair ValueSelect 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($21.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair ValueSelect 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($21.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital Red 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($84.00 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital Red 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($84.00 @ Amazon) Case: Cooler Master Elite 110 Mini ITX Tower Case ($36.98 @ Newegg) Total: $372.93 The price is a bit higher on my country, so I don't think it should really be that important, but it's still good to have an idea of how much I plan to spend. My main concerns about the build are: is that CPU enough for that, or should I step up a little bit just to make sure? I'm looking for something that is low powered and low heat. Is the case good for a build like that? The Elite 130 is way too big, but the 110 looks quite nice, even though it doesn't have any front expansion options as far as I can tell. Should I get an SSD for the OS, or just maybe an extra WD Red 2TB drive to max out the bays? I already have a PSU, so I didn't include it on the list. Also I believe 8GB RAM should be enough for 4/6TB, though I'm not sure if the speed/model is that important. As an extra, as I believe this motherboard supports Gigabit LAN, I'd probably need a new router. Are there any threads around here with information like that, or can anyone give recommendations for home office access points? Thanks!
  13. Yeah, I might do that. If I'm unable to get a replacement from Razer, I'll see if I can remove the switch and get a new one to solder on its place. Regardless, I'd rather not buy another Razer mouse, specially the Mamba, which I was considering to go along with my BW Chroma TE, but it's over double the price of the DA where I live, and I don't wanna risk another faulty mouse/switch, so I ordered a Steelseries Rival. Hope I manage to RMA my current DA which is under warranty, and maybe I use it as a spare mouse in the future...
  14. Not sure if this is the appropriate place to request recommendations, so sorry if it isn't! I just don't think a new thread is necessary. I bought a DeathAdder Chroma about a year ago, and it started double-clicking around 2 months ago, which thankfully I managed to fix with a firmware update. However, this week it started to miss clicks and occasionally double click again, and I couldn't fix it with firmware nor software updates, tried uninstalling Synapse and all of that, even opened it up to try to clean it, but it didn't help, the left click is still not working properly, so I'm looking for a new mouse. I really really like how the DeathAdder looks and feels, but I'm just not going for it again. So far the ones I have in mind are the Steelseries Rival, Asus ROG Gladius, Roccat Kone/Kone XTD and the Logitech G402 or G502. I don't like how the Logitech mice look, specially because of the blue color, since I have a red theme on everything else, and I've read they're not great for big hands. The Rival is the main one I'm eyeing right now, because it looks similar to the DeathAdder. Unfortunately, I can't find any mice from Mionix or Zowie on my country. I got a fingertip grip, so I need a light mouse. Also pretty much mainly use it for Dota 2 and general browsing and working.
  15. I'd absolutely love to get a more 'professional' tool to stream 3D assets creation. Good luck everyone!
