  1. GPU prices in Canada are kinda wild, For the same price as the 1660 super, I can get a 3060 (350-400CAD). I'll to look into this! I don't feel like my CPU has ever been a bottle neck, but definitely appreciate the suggestion@
  2. Budget (including currency): 200-400$ CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Baldur's Gate 3 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi all, With the coming release of Baldur's Gate 3, I'm looking to upgrade my build. I'm assuming / expecting the GPU to be the main focus point. Only have a 60Hz monitor so I am aiming for 1080p 60FPS, however being able to get up to 4k 60fps would be nice! Below are my specs! GPU: GTX 970 (Currently looking at the RX 6650 XT due to price, and comparing it to the rtx 3060) CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 Ram: 16gb ddr4 3200mhz Motherboard: B450 m ower supply: 750W (My PSU is getting fairly old @ around 10 years old) Apart from the GPU, are the existing parts adequate?
  3. Awesome! I wasn't sure how well the CPU would preform considering the age. I'll look into both your suggestions! Thanks!
  4. I would mostly like to get an overall FPS boost in all my gaming. I've been having to turn down the graphic qualities quite a bit. Overall goal is to be able to play games at 144z with a decent graphic quality.
  5. Hi everyone, I've been thinking of upgrade my pc a lot lately, and I'm looking for some help/guidance. (I live in canada for reference). My current setup is the following; Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 CPU: Intel i7 4970k GPU: GTX 970 PSU: Corsair CX750M Memory: 8 GB's of Corsair memory. As it stands I'm trying to upgrade my build while trying to spend the least possible. My Thoughts are the following; Replace the Motherboard with a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX. Replace the CPU with a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Replace Memory with 16GB's of DDR4 memory (Most likely corsair vengence). Keep the PSU, and GPU. Now, is it worth upgrading ? Are the suggestions I'm making worth the money? I'm currently debating trying to sell some of the hardware, and invest in a better GPU. Any suggestions? Any suggestion, ideas, or criticisms are appreciated. Thanks everyone!
  6. 90$ gets me 120 Download and 20 Upload. With unlimited Bandwidth .
  7. Thank you for the suggestions. I'll keep your suggestions in mind the next time I'm looking to build a gaming rig.
  8. I use it primarily for gaming yes. I also use it alot for video editing as well. What could I have done to the gaming aspect? Mechanical keyboard is my next update. Currently looking at the CM Storm keyboards.
  9. I simply want to know for the future. When I do ever decide to upgrade or build a new rig. I'd like to know what exactly I should be looking for. I did research on this build but I didn't really have any outside opinions to help me a long. hopefully this makes a little bit of sense.
  10. If your gonna say thing that like. At least tell me why I should.
  11. I should probably mention that this pc is already built and am just wanting feedback to know if I messed up anywhere. Currently using Windows 8.1 keyboard is a steel series Apex Logitech G602 Mouse
  12. Just wanted to post my first PC build, and am wondering what you guys think of it. Also, any suggestions on what I can do to improve it would be most welcome. This build is already built. Just wanting feedback is all. All 3 monitors have a maximum resolution of 1920x1080.
  13. I should have paid closer attention to my post. What I meant was that I have a I7-3770k CPU, along with the GTS 450. In terms of the Motherboard, and Memory. What factors should I be looking for? For example, I've found 2 4GB ram sticks for 50$. Why should I go for the more expensive?
  14. The most I would be willing to go is around 400. I highly doubt he would be interested in anything above 1080p. He's currently playing GTA4 on an old ultrabook. Basically a small box that takes up 40% of the screen(he somehow enjoys that). So no, graphic settings aren't an issue. Just a rig that's able to play the game at full resolution smoothly.
  15. Hey everyone. So I'm basically planning on building a PC for my brother's brithday. I want to make it clear that I live in Canada, and because of this. Most Online stores that have deals aren't worth it considering the amount in shipping. As a result, I need suggestions that link to Canadian websites. In terms of stores in my area. The only one that really comes to mind is Canada Computers. So the PC I plan on building is mostly only going to be used for gaming. So long as it's able to run GTA4 (his favorite game) smoothly there shouldn't be a problem. He may use the computer for streaming movies, and also stream on twitch every so often. I've looked online a little and I've noticed that most Budget PC's run on AMD chipsets, and in terms of price and power consumption, this is the way to go. Now in terms of going the Intel route. I currently have a i7-3770k CPU that i'm currently storing in my closet, along with a Nvidia GTS 450 graphic card. So to finally get down to the question. Should I going the AMD or Intel route? Also, do you have any reccomendations for either or? I'm looking to spend around 300$ Thank you for all the help. Let me know if you have any further questions. Just noticed one of the Pinned Topics. It will only be using 1 Monitor, and we have no need for any peripherals. All I need help with is strictly for the parts.
