  1. Why isn't it red and black, though? I've been waiting for god knows how long for them to produce a new Matrix card with the colors I expected from an ROG branded GPU - but without the gimmicky "LED's you cant control that force the green/blue light into your case against your will just to ruin the theme you've been going for". They didn't just keep the LED's, they swapped out the color palette entirely as well?! What the hell???
  2. Fair point. On a different note, I remember backwards compatibility upping the price of the PS3 by something like $100(and only worked occasionally to boot). While I'm no expert, I'm pretty sure if they had to pull something similar to make PS3 games compatible with the PS4, they'd lose a fair chunk of potential customers due to the increased price tag just to satisfy the 5 people world wide who still feel the need to play their old previous gen games. Ultimately, if people have a large collection of previous generation games, odds are they have the required console to play those games as well. If the need to play those games ever arises, they can always pull down the old machine from the attic, rub off the dust, and get down to it. Forcing every Sony-consumer to pay a premium price for a feature that's nice but not needed is asinine.
  3. Are you suggesting it's not a waste? The Sony spokesman specifically said it was a good feature to offer but that it just doesn't get used enough by the consumers to validate the high costs of enabling it. If their statistics show that it just isn't a needed feature, I'm inclined to agree. I had a Fat PS3 from launch and a slim PS3 following the death of the fat one - I barely felt the transition. I never touched my PS2 games on the backwards compatible one, I didn't touch them with the non-BC one.
  4. No, it was a feature people didn't use because people didn't use it. People look to new/recent games for their gaming fix, they rarely, if ever, look back. Having the feature is a nice gesture but an unnecessary one at best. I still remember having my Fat PS3 lying about. I think I played PS2 games on it twice or so before completely making the swap to PS3 games. Since then my PS2 collection has just been collecting dust, and I certainly don't feel like revisiting it any time soon. If it costs them both time and money which could've been spent on other features/games then I'd much rather have them do that instead of wasting those resources on a feature that's more for show than it is actually useful.
  5. Doesn't seem too far fetched though. Why wouldn't a minor current running through your muscles be able to manipulate your movements?
  6. I guess watching the ending of Dead Fantasy will remain a fantasy...
  7. Well, how would you know if it's bad? No one has tested them and thrown the results online as far as I can tell.
  8. Why is there so little info about these AIO coolers out there? They look absolutely amazing but there's nothing out there to inform people whether they're worth a purchase or not. I still haven't found a single, proper review of any of the models, nor any benchmarks. All I've found are some lovely pictures and an overview by Newegg. Furthermore, the only place I've seen them being sold is Newegg, and as a non-US resident how the hell do I get my hands on these? I'd love to throw a Captain 360 in the front of my Air 540.
  9. Oh, well there you go. You could look into the Demciflex magnetic dust filters specifically designed for the Air 540. They have a full set with filters to cover every single hole in the case, including the bottom. You could probably throw the front one on the inside of your case, on the rad itself. They're very thin and have very fine mesh. Highly recommended. Sure, it wouldn't save your front fans and rad, but at least the guts of your rig remain dust free.
  10. Actually think it'd fit fine in the "traditional" setup. The GPU and the rad would be relatively close to each other (the cables going from the GPU might even touch the rad) and the fans would have to be set to pull, I.e. between the case and the rad to avoid cables randomly getting caught in them. But I'm almost sure it can be done. Will inspect closer tomorrow.
  11. How thick are we talking? My rig has plenty of space for a rad+fans in the front. I'll have the spare time to hook one up tomorrow. If it hasn't been done until then I'll get back to you.
  12. I measured the depth/broadness of my Corsair fans to be 2.5cm, which is just enough for them to protrude straight into the front cover. Part of the front cover bends back inwards, so while it might seem like there's plenty of room on first glance, there's not much to work with in practice. Not unless you have exceptionally thin fans. Didn't have time to manually mount a fan in my case unfortunately, but I doubt my measurements are off. So no, I'd say you can't fit any fans under that specific hood. But why would you anyway? There's plenty of space on the other side.
  13. I find the notion of rape being equal to, or even surpassing the severity of murder, to be somewhat strange. They're not even in the same league to me. Ask any group of people whether they'd rather be raped or killed and I'm pretty sure you'd get a unanimous response. But I digress... Personally, I don't see much of a problem here whatsoever. I'd argue, if you don't have the leather skin recquired to ignore the nonsense people throw at you, you don't belong on the internet at all. Especially not if you're a public figure, as this woman apparently is. If you're a public figure or any sort you HAVE to be able to take some flack. If you get "disturbed and paralyzed by fear" literally just because of something some 12 year old said, I'm afraid you're in the wrong business. Taking any online threat seriously is ridiculous, I've lost count of the amounts of dicks people have wanted me to suck, how many men my mother apparently has sex with, and how often I've been "virtually skull fucked by some guy's l33t 360 no scope skillz as he was blazin' it 420 style to the tunes of Darude - Sandstorm." People are full of shit, that's just a basic fact of life. The only reason people keep their shit to themselves is fear - be it of violent or societal retorts. And they have no reason to fear on the internet - nor should they. People shouldn't be cencored just because some overly sensitive feminists demand it, nor should they live in fear of Big Brother watching them as they freely express themselves on the web. It's ridiculous how much power empty words apparently have over some of these people... The "Ban Bossy" campaign still baffles me to this date. You want adequate reason to be fearful? Try having a fatwa called out on your head. That's reason for fear. Proper response to some kid from halfway across the world, saying you're ugly and he'd gladly slap his salty fish stick against your cheek if he ever got the chance? Ignore, forget, move on. Because that's all that his comment ever meant - nothing.
  14. Escapism? Entertainment? To a degree, competition? Saying competitiveness has never played a part in game development is downright ludicrous. Pong was inherently a competitive game, allowing two players to be matched against one another. "Local LAN" gaming was extremely well received by gamers as well, Goldeneye made sure of that by allowing 4 people to shoot their friends faces off. Tekken 3 was a mile stone in competitive fighting games. Hell, the fighting game genre has done extremely well for itself, Street Fighter tournaments, Mortal Kombat tournaments, Marvel vs Capcom, Super Smash Brothers,... I mean, that one genre alone proves you wrong, as competitiveness has always been a key aspect of it, as far as I can tell at least. Where video games made with international competitiveness in mind? No, probably not. Is that relevant, though? Did the first guy to kick a round object through some arbitrary parameter think it'd one day turn out to become a key source of entertainment for half the globe? Probably not.
