  1. Well, I can use it as a very fast external Hdd. Still this Laptop is a lot faster than my current one, and barely in my price range. I am guessing the 940mx is pretty bad... Since that model would be 50€ cheaper.
  2. Could I still reuse the 500gb (2.5") ssd from my current laptop, or is the SSD in the m2 format?
  3. After my current 6 year old Laptop has really started acting up, I am currently looking for a replacement/upgrade. It should be capable of running slightly demanding Programms, and some light gaming (lowest settings, older games type of deal). While I prefer a 15", Battery life is not a concern. Also a decent keyboard would be nice to have.

  5. A single 980 should be able to run most games @ 1440p60, the only times mine struggles is at 4xAA and above.
  6. It might be a DPC Latency issue. For me turning off intel speed step solved it. A less drastic step would be to test other USB Ports.
  7. Same here, 4.4 GHz @ 1.325V, Core #2 is alway 10°C hotter under load, maxing out @~83°C I don't think ther is to little tim, there should be enough preapplied, 38°C fluid temps sound about right, I max out @ 45°C after folding with cpu and GPU for 6++ hours
  8. Well, I am not sick of Black/Red, but I prefer White/Black
  9. Corsair Dominator Platinum 16 GB DDR4 for 200€. Hell it was more than 50% off when I bought it. Never seen it drop below 400€ since then. Asus X99-S. The reason I got it over a deluxe was simply that it was ~130€ less, now it is only ~60€ less... Gigabite GTX980 Gaming G1 for exaclty 500€. nought said.
  10. My front USB 3.0 ports barley provide any power, USB sticks work fine, my external HDD disconnects every 5 seconds and if I try to run my mouse or keyboard same thing happens. I have to disable Intel Speedstepp, so my audio doesn't crackle. My ram is stable at 2400 MHz and 2800 MHz but 2666 MHz won't even post and boots with 2800 MHz regardless of the previous setting.
  11. 2000 on my Laptop (720p), 3500 on my desktop (1440p), I have acceleration off on both. I have set up higher DPI, but I rarely use them, pretty much only if the game does not support proper mouse sensitivity options.
  12. It is worth it. It all depends on the SATA controller. My Laptop with SATA 2 is faster than my old desktop, depite it having SATA 3. The first gen AMD SATA 3 Controller was just garbage.
  13. The G1 Gaming is still pretty quiet, the fans max out around 60% fan speed @~85°C, but usualy will only reach 40-50%. It does sound like a jetengine @100% though, but at 4000rpm the fans move a lot of air. Mine seems to overclock pretty good, and even on air I still have room for a bit more voltage.

    FAN SIZES

3 120 have slightly more surface area and most likely better static pressure.
