You're asking to have your card fried trying that most likely, or have your PSU die more likely since it wouldn't be able to supply the required power at times potentially
where did you get the 280x and for how much?
Seasonic S12II 620W is $49.99 atm has 2 8 pin connectors

I just got a 280x that requires dual 8 pins, however my antec 500w ea-500 only has dual 6 pin. Should I try to do dual molex to 8pin connectors or dual 6 pins to a single 8 pin. Are they good options or should I just get a new power supply, money is an issue

I'm a bit confused, so i was a looking at a tv and it's 1080p 60hz, but only over hdmi its interlaced but not over component? Will i notice a big difference in gaming if i play using over that hmdi 1080i port.
The tv in question is a LG 22LN4510

So I need to create a bootable Linux USB, but all I have access to is a school Linux or Windows 7 computer. But neither have administrative right. So anyone know I have to create a bootable USB without software that needs administrative permissions.

I was thinking about the best buy thinkpad yoga 460 that has a 940m. After edu discount it comes out to $750. It's 2in 1 1080p, dual core i5, 940m, 256gb ssd, 8gb ram and has Wacom digitizer. I do do some light gaming like dota 2. Would this be my best option for a laptop or should I look at something else?

I need a new router, currently have a old linksys wwrt54gs running ddwrt. Which i like ddwrt so im looking for a router that is compatible with it. Staples has a refurbish wrt 1200ac for $100 which is great since i have a $50 gift card that i've been meaning to get rid of http://www.staples.com/LINKSYS-Refurbished-WRT1200AC-WiFi-Router-AC1200/product_2097990. Is it an okay deal, my budget is around $50 ( in this case $50 after the giftcard for staples) and i need to upgrade as my wrt54gs does not get great signal in my 2 story house. There is also a netgear r6400 for $20 more but im not sure if its worth it

I have a 240gb boot ssd and a 3tb seagate hard drive (yes i know they are infamous for failing, but its been going strong for 3years) and when i was listening to some music i had on the 3tb, the music suddenly stopped and vlc gave me errors. then i notice in windows explorer that the hard drive was no longer appearing. I restarted my computer and it still didnt appear. After opening my pc i moved around all of the sata connector and booted it up and i worked. The 3tb was showing up again and the s.m.a.r.t. data was saying that it was still running at 100% with no issues. What could had happen? SHould i be worried and backup my drive or was it just noting

i need a new router, my old dd wrt linksys doesnt give full coverage in my 2 story house. I found these two routers that support custom firmware and they are about $55each. The dlink is refurb with 3 month warranty, which is a bit off putting. Other then that i have AT&T uverse with their router/modem combo with the router part switch off and using a linksys wrt 54gs as the router. ANy suggestion? are there any other routers for similar or less that you'll recommend
