Will my PC be ready for RTX3080?
Young Cash Register replied to BlizzardDizzard's topic in Graphics Cards
that system is definitely not gonna bottleneck a 3080. But if you wanna upgrade something get a bigger storage drive i would hope you have more than 500gb in 2020 -

My friend recently build a computer and he is unable to shut the computer off. The only way he's been able to shut it off is by the switch on the power supply. If he shuts it off through windows ti will restart right away. I had him check his settings in the control panel for "choose what the power button does" and all that shit but its set to turn off the computer when he turns off the computer not sleep. Quick boot is not disabled. He said theres this other setting in the BIOS that will restart the computer if it crashes when its in the process of turning off and he also has that disabled. So I really have no idea wtf is going on with this maybe his bios is corrupted or something or windows is fucked up but yeah just checking to see if anyone else has come across this issue. Thanks

Worlds First 360Hz Monitor Detailed & Launching in September 2020
Young Cash Register replied to EnVii's topic in Tech News
It will be a nice luxury for people that can afford to have their games running at 300+fps at decent settings. With my setup i would need to set my games to 480p low settings to hit that fps. Still cool to see technology advancing tho. I wonder when they will stop increasing refresh rate? Maybe around 600fps? -
Apple is Preparing its Own Search Engine
Young Cash Register replied to Pickles von Brine's topic in Tech News
Apple won't stop until they take over the fucking world honestly. Doesn't help that they have an entire generation of people brainwashed to think they can only buy apple stuff. -
Yeah I know, same lineup of cards. The issues people were having were with the whole lineup wasn't just one specific card. I'd be amazed if its still an issue tho he should be good with the 5700xt. I just didn't want to take any chances with my buddys computer so I just went Nvidia. This was a while ago so there's been time for them to figure it out

Looking for PC build under $1000, AMD pref.
Young Cash Register replied to ccdsg's topic in New Builds and Planning
Wow holy shit I just did some more research and the 3600 really does give quite a bit more FPS than the 2600 I really underestimated that difference. I thought it would be more like 5fps difference some games get like 40 more fps. I definitely was wrong about that, seems like a good build then considering that it gets my approval. I do notice a good improvement in system snappiness when I upgraded from an SSD to an NVMe drive so maybe once he fills up that 500gb drive I'd reccommend getting an NVMe and putting windows on it. But yeah thanks for making me realize how much of a difference processors make in FPS value im not sure why I thought it wouldnt be that much of a difference. -
Sounds like a bug for that monitor just cuz its not rated for that refresh rate. Don't think theres anything you can really do about that unless you can find some program that will let you resize your display resolution.

Most likely would work but that power supply seems a little on the POS side. Punch all your components into a power supply calculator to find the power draw of your system, if its above 420W i'd recommend getting a new PSU thats gold rated. Doesn't have to be immediately of course just when you get the money.

Im glad they finally figured it out I was really disappointed when that happened. I did some googling about a month ago because I was building my friend a computer and I wanted to see if they were usable yet but I couldnt really find many forums of people talking about it. All i saw when I googled them were people just talking about the issues still so I didnt risk it. The 5700xt is such a great value compared to an nvidia card wish it worked for me out of the box back then.

Its there any way that you can make 1080p look better?
Young Cash Register replied to DanWhite's topic in Displays
Not that I know of my dude, theres minor settings and bullshit you can change but wont do anything substantial. -
That's strange. Maybe you need to set the DVD drive as 1st priority if you havent already. Also.. when the windows disk is inside the drive and you go into the BIOS does it say anything about windows on the DVD drive? Usually if you have windows on something it will show it in the boot menu. You might have a bad disk. Only other thing I can think of is maybe look around in the BIOS settings to find some boot options you can play around with.
