  1. I really like the coolers LED lighting would match my case colours and window. What's really cool is the add-on USB monitoring and tweaking. Hoping that they can fix the BIOS to surpass Nvidia's voltage limitation with tweaking software.
  2. I like the thinner bezels and having the button placement on the back. Often hit the side buttons by accident muting my callers.
  3. Thanks for sharing I was considering buying the same board a few weeks back, due to that unboxing video you did, you seemed really excited about it too. It had all the features I was looking for. however googling the board revealed numerous problems and I wasn't sure as of this date the bios related issues were fixed, like I heard it CPU throttles apparently. Any other boards X79 you'd recommend been looking for some time now.. been thinking about Gigabyte X79-UP4, but unsure if shares the same issues as the UP5.
  4. Lost my one of my machines in a flood, would love to win this system to replace it. Twitter @MarlowXim https://twitter.com/MarlowXIm/status/375068797465415680 Battlelog MarlowXIm http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/MarlowXIm/ (It's in the feed)
  5. 1. Raid0 SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 120GB w/ Trim Enabled = This is my main os/applications/gaming. - Pricing 0.50/GB at the time and had stable firmware 2. Raid1: 1TB Enterprise Drives from Hitachi which run in Intel Raid 1 = Stores my critical work files, home movies, pictures = Pricing was good for Enterprise drives + 5 yr warranty Shares here: Twitter @MarlowXim https://twitter.com/MarlowXIm/status/375064687844405248 Battlelog MarlowXIm http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/MarlowXIm/ (It's in the feed)
  6. Well I have a 4770 available to me, hence why I was asking. I just wasn't sure if it was worth while to swap out the 2500k and purchase a new motherboard, if it wasn't much of an upgrade. I could get it to 4.7+ but it requires a bump in voltage around 1.375v last time I checked, however weather is pretty hot and humid currently. I do like the i7 is multithreaded so should perform better in encodes for videos, but I just didn't know by how much. Not sure about gaming performance though. Probably the 2500k wins in most respects due to clock speed probably loses in Crysis 3. Still on the fence since I'd have to purchase a motherboard for a the new socket. If I remember correctly Asrock had some motherboards that had a "no k oc" feature for their Ivy Bridge line which had a slight multiplier adjustment. Wondering if there is something similar out there in the market right now, that has something similar.
  7. Hi wondering which is faster. since I couldn't find any comparisons between the 2. SB 2500k @ 4.6 GHZ vs HW 4770 @ 3.9GHZ (Turbo) Since it's been said that IPC from Sandybridge to Haswell is roughly 17-21% probably alittle less then that. So roughly comparing the 2 in terms of Sandybridge architecture the 4770 is roughly around 4.1 GHZ SB?
  8. I was basing it on current pricing at NCIX, I would of jumped on that instead of the 500R if I had to do it over again. I have an E-ATX motherboard it fit in the 500R but had to cut off some of the motherboard tray due to it being recessed, which caused the angle connectors on my motherboard not to connect. But can't really say anything bad about the 500R other then that the extra 120mm mounting holes are handy though. Currently use them for CLC mounts for my GPU. Yeah I have history playing the battlefield series. Currently play on this server from time to time http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/servers/show/32138ea3-17e4-4a61-87dc-19d30ccf9816/UN-24-7-METRO-NOOBS-UN-UNITEDNOOBS/ Probably saw me there or complained lol.
  9. I faced the same decision on what to choose. Based on the sale price range I went with the 500R and features. One thing to note is that the 3.5inch bays facing inward can mount 2x 120mm fans which is handy if your going to add an extra internal 240mm or add 2x extra fans. Also Corsair has excellent RMA service, the USB 3.0 ports on mine were faulty and a new front panel I/O is on it's way. Don't even have to ship anything back. In terms of quietness the R4 is alot better due to noise dampening materials, although it does restrict airflow. Although if your willing to spend alittle extra I'd jump to XL R2 instead, which has similar features to the R4 but alot more space to work with,
  10. Could really use a faster processor. Been doing alot more video editing, new architecture counts :) I retweeted hopefully it shows up okay https://twitter.com/LinusTech/status/339654562858278912
  11. Awesome giveaway really could use those cores for heavy video editing! @mr_zim21 https://twitter.com/Mr_Zim21/status/315171049950019585
  12. Can anyone offer any suggestions for fairly grippy mouse pad. I'm specifically looking for ones that are not glide emphasized, I really prefer mouse pads with friction. Like flinging the mouse won't result in causing it to glide across the pad, or play air hockey on. At most maybe 1-3 cm fling distance. Material wise something that isn't cloth based, just something really solid and rigid. From my own research so far. Steelseries 4HD/9HD Razer Megasoma (Pricy)

    Mouse Pads

I too am looking for mouse pad. However I'm not a fan of glide or friction less mouse pads. I prefer ones that have quite abit of friction. Like flinging the mouse won't result in gliding across the pad. At most 1-3 cm if I flung it around. Any suggestions, I prefer a hard surface rather than cloth as well.
