  1. So long story short, I've followed a few guides to getting 10gb working between my main PC and my Server/NAS. This is mostly for fun more than speed increases as my drives are going to be more than of a bottleneck, but I feel like I've tried everything. I bought two Mnpa19-xtr Mellanox NICs and a Cisco Sfp-h10Sfp-h10gb-acu10m active 10m cable as the two computers are about 9m apart and I can't do anything about that. I've set up the cards right, right firmware, right drives, etc. I then changed the windows host file as all the tutorials state, and when I go to test the connection it's shockingly slow. Like MAYBE 1mb/s. But then I switched back to my old gigabit network and I was back to 120mb/s ish which is fine, but I can't get these 10g cards to work at all. anyone have any trouble doing this sort of stuff, and have a "derp" moment? Some little setting I might be missing? also, no idea if this is a thing, but is it possible these cards aren't compatible with active cables? I'm a total networking noob so not sure if that's a thing or not. Thanks in advance!
  2. Looks awesome! Would be a fun way to show clients video content!
  3. Forum ID: kickasssloth Build Title: The Quantum Loop Thread URL: Description: A high tech piece of military equipment, hidden from most eyes, locked away in a basement, it was left untouched for 25 years, but now its back... and boy does it look cool!
  4. Thanks man! Appreciate it!! I'll be following your build!
  5. My copper hardline military build, check more of it out here in the build log!
  6. Quick update Loop is done. I tore my hair out over the connection between the GPU and 120 rad, but gave up after my cheap pipe bender broke... it will be clear tubing for now, its just easier and does't look all that bad, Kind of interesting and Lets me check the flow of the loop. Just have bit more painting to do now, and then the System will be done, Final update and photos coming tomorrow!
  7. Excuse the out of order updates... Here is some more rust! Lots of little details, still some final work to do but you can see where I've started applying the scratch paint. 980 ti Time! I got a reference card so I could fit the EK block and backplate I got off of craigslist for $50! There, Much better. Looks so nice in the system! Now for the not so good news... My Bitspower tap came broken, it was sent by amazon in an envelope. It still works, the tap plastic is just broke, so I superglued it back together now and a new one will be here on monday! Got a few of the runs done and leak tested. Now, this morning I've done all but one (the hardest) run, the GPU to 120mm rad.. I've tried about 3-4 times so far and nothing works, its so tight. I might have to find an angle fitting but I would rather not. Not super thrilled with the return from the 240 rad to the res, a little too curvy, but due to the nature of the pipe and the fact it can only bend so tight, thats the best its going to be. Also, the LEDs are white, my white balance is just off on my camera.
  8. Nope, just hooked it up to the drain and opened it so I could test that first run to the GPU wasn't leaking
  9. Leak testing some of the stuff I have done so far, this is not easy, but so worth it! I'll take some more photos soon, then I'll finish the loop, take some more photos of painting additions I have to do, then we should be all done!
  10. Wow! Thanks man! Really really appreciate it! Should be done within the next 24/48 hours. Still have some more paint to do on the rust and a couple little details, but thanks so much, really glad people are liking the look of it!
