nice projector - hopefully spend the same $$ on the audio side.

the recommended seating distance for a 42" 4k tv is about 3 feet. so its pretty darn close. imo you are wasting your money on a tv this small in 4k.

vinyl imo is not about bits etc its this warm and more rounded sound that people are describing when they listen to vinyl. 
 
i just find vinyl too much maintenance / hassle and worse of all deterioration everytime you play the record. 

ummm e-shift doesnt support native 4k.

wouldnt be buying any 4ktv or bluray player, receiver etc until they are certified HDCP 2.2 compatible as this is the copy protection.  

your old man must be getting old and loosing his hearing as we all do with age.

just waiting for laser 4k projectors to come out at a reasonable price - for me its not time related more technology related.

just cause a reciever has 9.1 channels doesnt mean its high end. its all about quality of the components and reproduction of sound. The true high end home theatre processors actually has less features and concerntrate on audio quality.
