  1. I'm currently have a gtx 960 but I want to get into vr so not having to pay for a new graphics card makes it sound like an even better idea
  2. I'm interested in it since I could easily take it over my friend's house (it's a pain with my full sized pc as you can imagine) and it would be great for my favorite game, modded minecraft.
  3. Okay, even if it isn't the greatest power supply in the world it boots the system with the GTX 960 installed. So then it should be able to at least boot the system with the 660 Ti installed, am I wrong?
  4. How come? It's on the 80+ certified list and should be more than sufficient to at least boot the system.
  5. I guess I'll start with the system specs: AMD Phenom II x4 820 (not oc, nor did I unlock the cache) MSI 970A-G46 (bios version 2.6) Samsung 8GB (4x2gb) Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB EVGA GTX 660 Ti 2GB NZXT S340 EVGA 500w 80+ Certified Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Now with that configuration the system will turn on as in fans spin up, LEDs turn on, but most of the time I won't get anything on screen. The 660 Ti outputs a blank signal and keeps the monitor turned on without anything on screen. Occasionally it has made it to the splash screen but the it hangs there. I know the card works as I've tested it in another machine, but when I take the 960 out of this other machine and put it in the problem machine it will boot up without an issue. I've read on another forum that turning off Jmicron and setting the sata controller's mode to AHCI instead of IDE fixed someone else's similar issue so I changed the sata controller's mode to AHCI; However I don't know what Jmicron is nor how to shut it off. This is all I could find about an issue like this online. I have also tried all of the display outputs with the same results. I've taken the card out about ten times and put it back in, all to the same effect. Well thanks for taking the time to attempt to hear about my problem if you have any thoughts about how to fix this please let me hear it.
  6. I'll try the things I haven't done as I don't use fast boot, I have run memtest86 (it passed ) not sure what you meant by c states or p states, I'll check my boot order, and how would there be logs if the system isn't really started? After I have the issue windows doesn't give me a "Windows was incorrectly shutdown" sort of thing it just boots normally after I turn off the psu. Thanks though!
  7. I'm trying to determine if my issue is power supply related. I have checked all my connections, checked for pinched cables and such; however the problem has continued. Occasionally when I turn on my computer it appears to boot just fine as in the fans spin up and the LED on my GTX 960 turns on. Which is good, but no splash screen nor does a windows logo appear on screen and if I proceed to hold in the power button until the system shuts off, unplug the power supply from the wall (or flip that power switch) and allow the power to drain from the power supply via the LED back lighting on my keyboard. Then turn the system back on it boots up just fine. If I just shut off the system without letting the power drain and I turn it back on the problem repeats itself over and over. This issue happens less than once a week and last happened on August 26, 2015.
  8. I currently have a monoprice travel mouse and the left button is starting to die so a new, nicer mouse would be amazing right now.
  9. I went for over a year with just 1 60GB ssd, no other hdd, nas, external, nothing.... Just imagine that
  10. My main monitor is 1080p then I have 3 1280x1024 (paid $15 for the 3) and some crap form of 720p tv
  11. I had one of them but then I got a used razer keyboard for $20 in decent shape.
  12. The only mobile device I own... A 3rd gen apple Ipod... Its utterly useless. Not only that its the 8GB model.
  13. Well that would be awesome, can't wait to see who wins.
  14. I would have to say that my favorite item is probably the case, I was a huge fan of the DF-85 and spent a long while searching for one for my first build. I didn't have any luck though as they stopped production a few months before I was getting into computers and computer building.
  15. Okay thanks. Kind of stupid question now, would the $300 price premium be worth it to switch to x99?
