  1. For anyone like me arriving from google, you can bypass the corrupted EDID. You need to find the driver of your screen, that is a .inf file (e.g. from the Asus website). Then you need to go to the device manager: Right click on the monitor Properties Update the driver Local Choose on your own computer Select the "disk" (a folder with your .inf) Accept and reboot.
  2. Normally last gen Bios can read bios update files from an hdd. Bios -> advanced mode -> bios update tool -> then you can browse drives.
  3. Unless you installed drivers for you ethernet it won't work. go get them Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Driver V19.1.51.0 for Windows 7/8/8.1 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/lan/Intel_LAN_Win7-8-8-1_VER191510.zip?_ga=1.44263138.758536058.1393712729
  4. Have you found something ? I'm interested too. I can't clone displays without loosing my 144hz
  5. Doing my rig I didn't felt like watercooling my 980s because they are not hold back by temperature at all. 1.35 vcore seems very high for 4.3 ghz. What is your PSU ? Monitoring threads usage I have seen that most games don't use more than 8 cores so I disabled Hyper Threading while gaming.
  6. I would go with MSI X99s Sli plus even if a have an Asus x99. I don't see anything wrong with this motherboard .... can your friends elaborate why not take this one ?
  7. You can assign via the task manager threads. Task manager -> Details -> right clic on process -> set affinity For example: CG:GO thread 0,1,2,3,4 Xplit thread 5,6,7
  8. go for NF-A14 industrialPPC-2000 or 3000 Super airflow. The only noise is coming from the air moving through the radiator !
  9. Pickoff https://www.vessel.com/videos/JYZEYDYx0 Finally a watercooling video with EK https://www.vessel.com/videos/LCoY5zfFfBecause my internet connection is faster than my gigabit lan ...
  10. Sometimes it's "normal" to wait a long time for windows to output something on screen when rebooting (just after drivers installs).
  11. Nice card but still I'll wait for the next iteration from amd or nvidia. Thanks for linking the google doc. Do you have the same one for cpu ?
  12. Boot on a linux ubuntu usb key then follow the tuto http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19141/clone-a-hard-drive-using-an-ubuntu-live-cd/ It worked like a charm for me. After the "sudo dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdc" It's long and you don't have progress % feedback but it works. Then when booting on the ssd windows you won't be able to browse your old hdd because they will have the same exact signature. To modify that and clean your old hdd when on windows. Run diskpart. list disk select disk ... (choose your old hdd) clean create partition primary active format fs=ntfs quick assign Then you are done.
  13. Gaming doesn't require a lot of data except when loading your mate character infos. If you don't have a bad latency it could be fine. You can test it by "pinging" each other (don't forget to allow respective routers to answer wan ping commands).
