Who is the fanatic, really? Yes, it's one of those threads again
Recka replied to woox's topic in Graphics Cards
Probably my favourite quote... That's AMDs fault, not the consumers. Why should consumers get a worse product for the same price just because competition is a good thing. AMD should be making the competition for the consumers, not the consumers getting a worse product to keep competition alive. -
Check 1440p benchmarks and see how they go at first, 21:9 is about 1/3 more pixels at about 4.8 million where as 16:9 1440p is just under 3.7 million. For reference 4k is about 8.3 million so if it does 1440p at 80+fps you're probably not going to be dipping below 60fps.

PC Shuts Down without warning and fails to reboot
Recka replied to VSD2020's topic in Troubleshooting
Sounds like a CPU power issue... Might be a faulty 4/8pin connector on the PSU?- 4 replies

Prefer League, GF prefers DOTA. Both games are fun but when it comes down to it, LoL wins where DOTA fails. SHURIMA

My bad, not too up to date on AMD and I thought the 300 were still Hawaii, original point stands though!
-
Nope, crossfire requires same architecture family (390x is Hawaii and Fury X is Fiji).

Sell the Titan X for like $700 (if you can) and use that to put towards 2 980ti's. 2x980ti's is about $1300 and 1 titan X to SLI will run you $999. Take out the $700 you made from the titan X and you've spent $600 on the upgrade. Plus you can get aftermarkets if you spend a bit more which OC better

Any benifits the furyX has over the 980 ti?
Recka replied to XxDeadpool67xX's topic in Graphics Cards
Give it about 2-3 weeks before buying one because drivers MIGHT make it better. That said, it's the first generation of HBM so don't hold your breath for the greatest innovation known to man ever on this. HBM2.0 should (hopefully) be really good and there's rumours Nvidia are grabbing that tech, too since it's open. -
Idk why there's all the hate between Tek Syndicate and Jay in this thread... I love both (Subbed to both of them, Linus, Paul, Kyle and NCIX) and I don't see why this thread is divided between them. I can understand liking one and not the other it's just the "one or the other" attitude this thread seems to have which perplexes me. Also for the people saying he's a dick, sarcasm is a big part of his humour but if you don't like that then that's fair and I can't say I really blame you.

Why not go a portable local IDE? Not relying on cloud/internet and no installing

The biggest difference with 60fps isn't the looks (yes, it DEFINITELY does look better and more fluid) but with the feel. When you are playing on a PC at 60fps, the difference is unreal.

85MHz Monitor
-
CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM and Monitor all overclocked! I can't wait to see a 980ti with core and VRAM OCd to go up against a Fury X with only core OCd...

I'll add when I get home tonight, won't be free until Sunday night though.
-
I mean I'm unranked and only have 50 hours played but monday/tuesday nights I'm generally free...

So long as it's in the CPU fan header it will auto-adapt. Running a fan at 100% the whole time isn't good for it, let the mobo handle it
-
Mine won't do 1.18 stable at 4.4 but every chip is dif, I'd say go 1.22 and see if that's stable and lower from there!
-
Is that the lowest you could get the voltage? Mine runs on 4.4 at 1.22... Otherwise to get to 4.6 I need 1.26 which I need to improve my cooling situation first (I need to re-do my thermal paste, I'm fairly sure) and it seems you might also be able to get lower heat if you can drop the voltage and have it stable. Otherwise that's fine, somethings things bork on boot and just resetting is fine and nothing to worry about! Edit: Checking your new post, have you got it set to adaptive still? Try and make sure it's set to override otherwise it will increase the voltage on you.

Hey all, I'm un-ranked in CS so I'm not exactly good but I'm looking for people to play with just for fun, mostly. My friend are all around GNM and MG1 so they generally don't want to play with me for fear of de-ranking (which I get) but I don't like playing alone so I was wondering if anyone wanted to play, maybe improve skills and have fun while doing it! My friends have also all but abandoned League for HotS which I don't really enjoy so I'm looking for other LoL players just for normals (mostly) and maybe some duo/5s (I don't play ranked much and only have 16 or so games this season so I'm only bronze 1, I wouldn't expect mad carries). I can usually play mon/tues/sunday from about 7pm onwards since that's when I get home from work and I raid wed/thursday.

Is getting a 4K monitor worth it if you have an R9 270
Recka replied to EZ-Walk's topic in Graphics Cards
It'll output to the monitor but that's about it. Trying to game in 4k with anything less than 2x top end cards will net you <60FPS on any high end game -
Cool, I'll take a loot in to it

Well I'll be able to store the drivers on USBs without any issues. While we have a few models a 16GB USB should be fine... My only issue is 8/8.1 machines being OEMs so the key is stored in the BIOS and not physically on the PC...
-
Will this work to image on to machines with varying hardware (different motherboards etc)? If so this is excellent! I'll have to try this out and hopefully it goes well
-
Activation was going to be the biggest issue I figured... From memory certain Windows 8 installers (no idea how it works with images) pull the pre-installed key from the BIOS which would be fine for all the 8 machines if I could get that working but the 7 ones where the key has been rubbed of or peeled off (because clients can be idiots) could be the biggest issue. I was looking at getting this done at my old job but never had time. I was going to do it via ESXI/VSphere and have a VM with Win 8, Win 7, pro and home of both to do the updates that I need to do and image from those installs.

Hey all, I was looking at a solution to make my workload more streamlined as I do a lot of re-installs for businesses. I was looking to see if anyone has experience just to be able to let me know if this would work. We use a variety of machines of different brands and models (HP, Dell and Lenovo mostly) and I was wondering if it's possible to do an image for Windows 8 and for Windows 7. Is there a way to do this where it won't run in to issues for different motherboards? The other issue I'm thinking is activation (especially with Win8 activation build in to the BIOS) Anyone have any tips on this at all?
