  1. I'd love it because it'd be easy to haul around and my MBP is meh. I always have a backpack with me and need something with a little more oomph than my current config. Thanks for the giveaway!
  2. Fair enough, I'll relay the info to him (and make sure I'm there next time he does this). Thanks guys!
  3. As far as he told me, there was some kind of small spark between the cable and 24 pin port as he was plugging it in. Should've been OK with that too?
  4. Just a small question, not specific to any hardware: if you take a PSU and then hook up the 24 pin connector to the motherboard (while the switch is on and the PSU is connected to the power socket), does it actually damage the motherboard? Curious because a friend did this (it was the last thing he plugged in for some reason). Hasn't gotten back to me yet but I'm still wondering what could have happened afterwards.
  5. Fair enough. I'll give them a call soon to ask. If that proves futile...@digitalnav pls.
  6. EVGA wasn't of any help (I mean after all, the ACX is their flagship cooler). I'll try Digital Storm and NVIDIA, but I have to ask first: why Digital Storm of all companies?
  7. The card I have is completely a reference design, just the coolers have been swapped for a custom one (if I'm not mistaking). Most of the early 980s were like this.
  8. So, long story short: I ended up buying an EVGA ACX 980 last year when the reference cards were out of stock across the board. I kinda regret my decision though, because the reference 980 just looks so much sexier. Also, the blower design might actually perform better since my case fans would be pointing directly at the intake. I guess my question is this: is there any way I can obtain the cooler by itself now? I looked on eBay and found nothing, which is rather unfortunate.
  9. They're SSDs, so all of the same pros/cons apply. If it's PCI-E M.2 then you also get quite the speed bump since you aren't bottlenecked by SATA 6Gb/s anymore. Edit: Price is the biggest turn off for most people ATM. Way more expensive than normal SSDs.
  10. Dang, really? And I'd imagine Huang would have one like that too (but not for this scenario though).
  11. Exactly what it says on the tin. One is the current CEO of NVIDIA, one is the former CEO of Microsoft. Who would you fight 1-1 and why? Posted here instead of "off topic" because it's about people in tech, mods don't hurt me pls.
  12. Was that Luke's first time doing the first ad voiceover? That was great lol
  13. I actually think Windows Vista was one of the best OSes that Microsoft ever made. Sue me.
  14. That's strange. Have you loaded any new programs? Changed any network settings? If it worked fine for a week, then it's likely not the driver.
