  1. LG 24GM77, 8 bit panel so colors are very good for a TN panel, highest contrast ratio out of all the 144hz TN panels ( consistently over 1000 contrast in normal mode ). If you can't find this one, get the 2411z it's still better then the Asus which to me personally looked really bad even when calibrated.
  2. The LG 24GM77. It has a true 8 bit panel and very good contrast for a TN panel.
  3. I don't know If this helps but, I've looked all over the EU zone myself before buying my 550ML and just couldn't find a better price then 240 Euro in a local shop in my country, so I just ended up buying that. Still very happy with my purchase, it's an awesome phone compared to what I had in the past.
  4. Hello everyone, Just saw these pop up on a local shop and I'm wondering if they are any good. http://www.asus.com/HeadphonesHeadsets_and_Speakers/FoneMate/overview/ Thanks
  5. I don't have a multimeter but I'll try and see if I can borrow one from some one. PSU is 80+ Bronze I already use a surge protector....guess I need a better one or something.
  6. Hello everyone, So, I was sitting at my pc when suddenly the power to my house went out for like a split second and now my PC refuses to start. There is no beeping of any kind, none of the fans turn on as I press the power button...basically absolutely nothing happens. Power does seem to go into the pc tho, since if I connect my mouse and keyboard to any of the USB ports they do light up. One weird thing: the led(s) on my LAN port doesn't light up at all. I don't have a spare PSU to test and see if it's the PSU or the motherboard, which I think one of them has been damaged. Here are the pc specs: i5 4460 Asrock h97 pro4 Antec neo eco 520c 520W 8GB of corsair vengeance ram What I've tried so far: Removing everything and trying to boot with just the CPU and MB power connectors plugged in....still no signs of any life at all. Tried with just one stick of ram, nothing. Tried multiple wall sockets, nothing. So, based on these "symptoms" which part is most likely dead? Any other test that I can run at home? Also, let me know if I need to provide more info. Thank You
  7. Hello everyone. In my country a new GTX 970 is around $400-$450, with the exception of the mini-itx version from gigabyte which is ~$370. While looking for some prices I found a website selling a few gtx 970 models with what would translate as "re-sealed" label but with only 6 months warranty, the price being ~$290. I sent them an email yesterday asking them if the gpu's were damaged in any way or why are they selling them so cheap (other websites sell these "open box" type gtx 970's with only $20-$30 off it's original price), but no answer yet. What do you guys think? Is it worth to risk it? Or should I ask/look for anything specific before I decide to buy one? Thanks
  8. Like I was given advice in another thread, unless you want the new features that the r9 285 is offering, there really is no point in buying one right now, it's only a bit faster then a 270x on 1080p on most games.
  9. It really depends on what style of gameplay you have and at what level you play/want to play FPS games. Since I've been playing counter strike from around 2000, I can notice input lag or response times pretty easily. I don't play hardcore for a couple of years now, but I still can't stand playing CS GO for example on an IPS screen. I've done a couple of tests with some monitors from my friends and I can notice 60hz-120hz almost instantly in any fps, tried a 8ms IPS found it horrible in CS GO - tho later I found out it had a total input lag of 23ms - , played 2 weeks on a 1ms TN BenQ then 2 weeks on a Dell IPS, again I could see that I wasn't playing at the same level...it just seemed like the IPS was too motion blur-ish or slower in a way, I can't really explain it...it just didn't feel as snappy? I guess that's a word lol For other games or maybe more casual FPS play, that IPS will probably be great. I loved the dell IPS in Dark souls 2 for example. EDIT: After looking online a bit it seems that the total input lag on that monitor should be way below 16ms, which is the top limit for high lvl FPS play, so you might be good with this one.
  10. yes the R9 280 is roughly $20 more then the 270x, at least the sapphire dual x one, 3gb. Guess it's between 280 or 290 now depending on how much cash I can gather and if my 520w antec neo eco can even support a 290 with an i5 4460. Thank you for all the prompt answers...it seemed to me that the 285 wasn't really worth the money, just wanted to be sure
  11. So I'm still in the process of deciding on what GPU to buy, and I came across these 2 reviews: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Sapphire/R9_285_Dual-X_OC/9.html http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/R9_270X_Gaming/9.html According to their test setup both are run at highest settings, and as you can see at 1080p the FPS difference is ~3FPS in BF4 with 4x AA For me locally, the 285 is around ~$100 more then the 270x, so what am I paying that much for? Sure in other games the difference is a bit bigger, sometimes ~10 FPS or a bit more, but does that really justify $100+ for the 285?
