  1. I recently built my first rig and for me the hardest part for me was to plug the cables of the front panel connections from my case which are the bottom of the motherboard near the PSU.
  2. I really like to the looks of that power supply, I'm almost finished building my new rig and all I need is a power supply that is reliable and power efficient of course
  3. Should I go ahead and perform a clean re-install of the operating system?
  4. I tried to update the BIOS, but it says that it's unable to connect to the internet, I also can't update it using a USB because the flash drive that I have at the moment is faulty and the computer won't recognize it
  5. No, I haven't because I'm afraid that something might go wrong during the update and make my computer unbootable. What precautions should I take when Updating the BIOS?
  6. I've been recently having issues with the computer I recently built. The problems are lately the USB ports in the I/O panel of the motherboard cannot seem to recognize some my USB storage devices such as my flash drive and phone, strangely they seem to work fine with other devices such as my mouse, keyboard, headset and webcam. I have tried almost everything from: uninstalling and re-installing the drives, disable them and re-enable them back afterwards. The other problem is that whenever I to launch disk management from either the command prompt or directly from the computer management shortcut the following message appears: "An internal error occurred. Please restart the Disk management snap-in". I did as it told me and went to MMC, ran it as administrator and added the snap-in to the console, however when I was about to save it the same error appeared. I also ran sfc / scannow from the command prompt and it said that there were some errors that it couldn't fix, leading me to believe that there might me problem with the hard drive itself rather than Windows, however I'm not able to tell. I also forgot to mention that the hard drive that I'm using is 6 years old as I'm unable to buy an SSD at the moment. I have no problem with backing my data to a secondary hard drive and doing a clean install again but I don't want to do it unless I am absolutely sure that there's no other solution out there. Detailed answers are preferred but other answers are certainly welcome. Thank you
  7. I unistalled the one that was connected to my mouse haha, had to shut it down and turn it back on again. I'll try to uninstall and re-install them again, the other thing is that it was working just fine before
  8. Hi, I have recently encountered a problem in Windows 7 Ultimate. The problem is that every time I try to connect my USB flash drive or phone to transfer music, pictures and videos it does not seem to recognize it. Ironically, this does doesn't seem to happen with my other three USB devices which are my webcam, mouse and Wireless USB adapter for my internet. I have tried almost every solution that I could find: re-installing the USB drives, disable and re-enable them back again, among others. I don't wish to re-install my operating system again until I know that there's a solution to fix this problem, if it comes to having to re-install everything back again, then I suppose that I have no choice. What solutions do you recommend that might or can fix this problem?
  9. I've never owned such a powerful graphics card, but from the benchmarks that you guys have been posting, I gotta say, they literally blow my mind away. I recently built my own computer but the only thing I am missing... is you guessed it, the sweet cherry on top
  10. Idea Suggestion: Add special effects to the video without the Intel Guy knowing , just a suggestion
  11. Hi, I'm new to the community (well I actually joined more about two weeks ago but couldn't find how to start a topic until now...) Anyways, I would like some motherboard and ram recommendations that would go along with my i5-3570k processor that is not too expensive but also not too cheap. Some background information, I am upgrading my pre-built computer which has an Intel Pentium E2410 dual-core processor which is more than 5 years old and it certainly cannot handle some of the CPU hungry games that I wish to play. I decided upgrade my computer slowly for the sole reason that I don't have any money to buy new computer hardware components to build a brand new gaming computer, so there's that. Back to the topic, I recently purchased the i5-3570k processor and am looking for a motherboard and ram that the most bang for the buck without spending too much money (200 CAD with taxes is the limit for me right now). Some of the features that I'm looking for in a motherboard are at one or two PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots for my current graphics card and future graphics card upgrades in case I decide to go with SLI, basically futureproofing my PC if you will, I am also looking a Multi-Channel Memory Architecture support and CPU overclocking capabilities. Thanks for taking the time to read this post and I'm also glad to be a part of the linustechtips community.
