  1. My current configuration is the following: -Sennheiser HD559 -Massdrop Minimic -Creative SoundBlaster Z -Cheap 2.0 set of speakers. I've been using this setup until now, but I started to have issues with the microphone input of the sound card not picking up my voice with various mics I've tried. I've tried alternatively to use the on-board sound for the mic, but it has very unpleasant background pops (the sound it's an integrated ALC887 from a P8H67-M board). Now I'm thinking about replacing my sound card with another audio device, and I'm looking towards and external USB device instead of an internal sound card. My idea is to use an audio interface since I need a microphone input. The one I'm looking at right now is the Behringer UM2 (https://www.amazon.es/Behringer-UM2-Interface-audio-sampleado/dp/B00EK1OTZC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1529340869&sr=8-1&keywords=um2). My doubts are the following: -Although this device is meant for recording audio, can I actually use it with my mic for voice chat and so? In that case, do I need and XLR to 3.5mm adapter or just a 1/4" to 3.5mm? -What other viable options do I have instead of this around 50 euros (I live in Spain)? It is preferable that the device is also compatible with linux, but not essential. Thanks for the help.

    Ryzen/Nvidia build locking up

Hello, I'm currently helping a friend to build his computer with the following components: CPU -AMD ryzen 1400 Mobo- Gigabyte AB350M gaming 3 RAM Corsair Vengueance LPX 3000Mhz 2x4GB (CMK8GX4M2B3000C15), currently running without XMP, just default 2133 GPU msi GTX 1050 ti (He owned previously and has been using it for a year in an old pc) SSD Crucial BX300 240GB HDD WD Blue 1TB Power Supply be quiet! Pure Power 10 CM 500w I helped him after he tried to build it himself, cause it wasn't posting We ended up thinking it was the board, so he got a replacement. Now we are trying with the new one. At first, it didn't post. I took the cpu back out, check the pins, and clean them all with alcohol cause they seemed to have a tiny bit of thermal paste. After that the computer failed to post a few times, but then suddenly managed to work. Then I updated the BIOS to the latest F10 revision to proceed with windows installation Now the problem comes up. Once in a while, the computer will lock up for a moment and then the screen would turn black. After a few seconds everything goes back to normal. When trying gpu intensive workloads the program would crash. When trying to play OverWatch a message saying "Your rendering device has been lost" appears, although this seems to be a problem with the game in certain setups. He has also tried with Unigine Superposition, which just tends to crash with no info, yet one of the runs caused a blue screen with the message: VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR I really don't know what to do next, we've tried multiple chipset drivers and nvidia drivers, used amd power plan and high performance and also underclocking the gpu (OW forums suggested it for that kind of error) but nothing worked, it crashed again sooner or later. I would like some advice about it. Thank you very much.
  3. Hello, I bought a Canon EOS 600d two years ago. I´ve been practicing with the camera and the 18-55mm lense that came with it, but I know and I've notice that it's picture quality is not the greatest, so for a while, I've been planning to upgrade to a new lense. I don't really need a wide range of focal length, considering that I feel pretty confortable with my actual range in most occasions. One of the ideas I have in mind is purchasing a prime lense, that will improve notably the image quality, so I found a Sigma 30mm f1.4 (https://www.amazon.es/Sigma-30-DC-HSM-distancia/dp/B00BQXL8BU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471521389&sr=8-1&keywords=sigma+art+30mm) that seems like a good option at a decent price. With this choice, my doubt is if I'm going to feel limited by the prime in terms of focal length, and if so, will I be able to adapt easily? I'll also take the opportunity to ask something else about the prime. I've heard from other people that using a prime forces you to think more about the picture frame, which is good for learning. Do you agree with that? Thank you. PD: The link for the top is to amazon.es where I was planning to buy the lense, but I'll link you to the american version too to give you a version in English. https://www.amazon.com/Sigma-30mm-Canon-APS-C-DSLRs/dp/B00BQXL8BU/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1471533139&sr=1-2&keywords=sigma+30mm+1.4

    AMD Polaris Giveaway

I have a gtx450 and it's getting old. A polaris card seems like a nice upgrade at a reasonable price
  6. They actually look pretty good. Thanks for the recommendation dude!! The only think I might be a little concerned wit this model is battery life, but that's probably only a problem while heavily using the GPU.
  7. I actually like that laptop a lot, but it only comes with the i7 6500, and its only dual core. If they launch a version with a quad core it will be just what I wanted.
  8. Since I'm not buying it yet I don't have a fixed budget, but I'll like to get something around 1200$, maybe a little more
  9. Hello, I'm looking for laptops to buy in a while for now, but I'm having some problems to find something that fits my criteria. For the laptop, I'll like to have: - A quad core skylake processor (something like a 6300hq or a 6700hq, I'm not that worried about hyperthreading) - A not very powerful GPU( anything under a 960m is more that enough, including intel graphics and specially intel iris graphics) - A screen around 13" or 14" - Lightweight (under 2Kg) - Decent battery life - Any kind of hard drive (preferably and SSD, sata or pcie, but I'm okay with traditional HDDs too) - Decent amount of USBs(at very least two, and a type c would be nice) - SD card reader(not essential, but very convenient) I would love to get some suggestion from you guys Thanks a lot PD one of the laptops that looks interesting to me was the Lenovo Thinkpad t460p

    HOLY $H!T - $4,000 Server Chassis

Does anybody know why the power supply has such a big difference of output depending on the voltaje of the input?
  11. Miguelagve

    Upgrade to 4790k or 6700k?

The difference is not that big so, if I were you I won't upgrade unless you need the new features (M.2, USB 3.1 and type-c...) If that's not the case, I'll rather stay with what you have, and save some more money to upgrade in 1 or 2 more generations to a Skylake-E platform or to a new AMD Zen CPU
