  1. To anyone who sees this, I will just try to load a newer bios. I was using an older bios that let me overclock my non k i5 6500
  2. On my computer with an i5 6500 overclocked to 4.2ghz, ASUS z170-e, GTX 1060, I can't boot off of any usb with any linux distribution that I put on it. I have tried 2 different usb drives with Arch, different versions of Ubuntu, Debian, and Elementary OS. I am able to get to the screen where I can choose to install, use the live linux, etc. but I can't get past those options. It used to have an acpi error that came (where it couldn't load the acpi?) which then I removed the issue through setting acpi=off in the start command editing. After that, the screen is just stuck on the blinking marker for ages. I don't quite know what I am doing wrong because the usb works fine on another computer for a full install. TLDR: My computer doesn't boot off of live linux USB drives and I don't know why. Could you guys suggest anything that I could try or do?
  3. Did you really spend your life savings on this PC? Please tell me you didn't.
  4. He would probably just get another cable and chew on that. Anyways OP, you should just do something that you hate every time you chew on a cord. That could be like a previous person said, slapping yourself, or it could be eating an orange if you hate oranges that much. Just do something that you hate and you will grow to associate the thing you hate with chewing cords.
  5. lol I didn't mean to sound so pretentious
  6. Well if you really want to use cherry mx switches you could get any corsair keyboard as many of then are around 100 dollars usd. But before you go in on that you should look at all the non-name-brand mechanical keyboards which could be more your thing if you have 100 dollars to spend such as Leopold or Poker. Either way you should check out https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/ where they have guides of what keyboards at what prices to buy and many different types of mechanical keyboards that you could consider. But if you are just going to game and type as much as most people here do, a Corsair keyboard would probably be pretty good. It would also do no harm to just go to your local computer store if they have keyboards on display and check out the different keyboards and switches that exist.
  7. Yeah, I would say in the current political spectrum the left is just making things too politically correct, so far that you can't even express yourself in a way that would be considered rational just a decade ago or less. For that reason, just like you, I am leaning right or conservative. Your experience in college really must've sucked because self expression is pretty vital especially to art. And at your college your professors were telling you to stick to a certain way of thinking and expression which defeats the purpose of creativity in art. Yeah but hope you have a good rest of your day.
  8. I just always feel like the piece of shit I am in my family, school, and many other social environments. But sadly I have very little chance of getting into a relationship because I am generally short and I used to have a lot of behavior problems at school where I just acted like a fucking retard with my angry breakdowns. But I am really glad you were able to fix yourself.
  9. That's really great that you were able to recover. It's also really awful how much the progressive left has make many colleges anti-right and too politically correct. But one of the things that really makes me feel awful is how even though I have the best things in my environment, nothing really improves and I am perpetually getting worse.
  10. My last 3 years have been the worst of my entire life and thats why I stayed off this a forum for a while. I am just seeing so many other people in many similar situations like me where studies just make you too stressed out to the point where you get mental health problems and depression. Are any of you guys like this?
  11. Nice keeb mate. I used to remember years ago any post like this one would instantly get 4 responses. Those were better times for us.
  12. I think that such content doesn't really go hand in hand with the level of quality that Linus Tech Tips has. If he were to do something similar to that he would probably have to add something extra such as replicating the improvements.-
  13. I thought that you were joking with the troll face but I completely agree with @Eastman51. If your computer desktop is doing that and not a program overlaying, then you should maybe reinstall windows or get a anti virus program that runs of live linux on a usb.
  14. If you are being serious then just get a better anti-virus and uninstall Malwarebytes.
  15. I hope you eat a lot of grapefruit while taking statin drugs. Maybe you aren't trolling. . .
