  1. Thank you for the insightful post, will do some problem solving. Do you think Directx version could have something to do with it? It's currently running on DX9 according to Dxtory
  2. Tried changing to default codec, still getting 20-30 :C
  3. Hello beautiful community of LTT, I currently am trying to record some clips with Dxtory. I am using the lagarith loseless codec and am trying to record CSGO. I get 350+ FPS in game, and have a GTX 780 + i7 4770k. However, whenever I record, the file fps is only 20-30. Does anyone know why this happens? I know sometimes it's an issue with drive write speed, but I'm pretty sure my drive speeds are well above the minimum.
  4. Baby come back! Or when you aren't at work, and have some time to take a picture
  5. Hey guys! So after a long debate of what I want to do for my next audio solution, I have decided to get a pair of Audio Technica m50x's and a blue yeti microphone, which is a massive upgrade to my gaming "all in one" Siberia v2s. My only gripe is that I feel like the mic would be distracting. So, to see if it really is that bad, please give me your feedback of how it is gaming with a microphone either on your desk or on a microphone arm, how good the sound quality is if it is on your desk (all the mechanical keys clicking, etc;), and if possible, a picture from your usual POV. Thanks LTT Community
  6. I think this is the closest you will get. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826991001 Here's a picture I found Google searching.
  7. One of my acquaintances is looking to purchase a laptop for an engineering and daily use in general, and I was hoping that you guys in the LTT community could help me out. I am hoping to be able to inform him so that he can make an educated purchase as he is looking for a laptop that will last him through the years. Thanks in advance! Also, the budget says $1000, but of course it can be around it as if abit more money will be worth it in the price per performance margin I'm pretty sure he'll be fine.
  8. Hey LTT community, with Black Friday creeping up soon, I was looking to get a second monitor for my rig. However, the second monitor I"m looking at has only a VGA & DVI port. My current monitor uses DisplayPort. Will I be able to use both monitors, 1 connected using DisplayPort, and 1 using DVI successfully? Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the replies! Will see if the problem persists after slowly testing it one by one. First going to test by changing windows power options. Thanks for the help lovely LTT Community <3
  10. So, I have a very isolated problem. When I play on my computer, everything works fine, and it looks amazing. However, whenever I go idle and don't move my mouse or type on my keyboard, when I come back (usually 5+ minutes) the monitor is off. I click it to turn it back on, and it comes up with "Display Port (NO CONNECTION)" on my monitor. The only way I can rectify the situation is to unplug the power plug for the monitor, then replug it back in, but sometimes that doesn't work. Other times I have to unplug the DisplayPort cable, then plug it back in, then it works like a charm. However, in extreme cases I have to restart my whole computer for it to start working again. Anyone know what gives? My rig specifications are below, and also my speculations. Possible Reasons (I think) Some kind of idle auto-turn off monitor function? Some kind of idle auto-turn off function in the GTX 780? There is some magical ninja that comes in and turns it off, then messes with the cable for a few minutes? Any and all help would be appreciated! Thank you LinusTechTips community!
