  1. Don't need it, but want it ...yeah, I'm that person
  2. I tried to connect a really cheap literally broken in half headset (separate mini jacks for mic and audio). It was more done as a test for when i receive my modmic, but the headset works completely fine when connected directly to onboard (Z97M-G43). I have no idea what the name of the headset is. I did some more testing, and it seems to simply not work with all the different PC microphones I have in the house (all TRS), however I had some TS jack microphones laying around too, and it plays happily with those. Do you think getting a mini jack to TS jack adapter would solve my problem? P.S: Connecting the output of my Schiit Magni to it also seems to work. The setup is a Behringer MIC200 (preamp) > Alesis Core 1 (interface) > PC
  3. Connecting a microphone mini jack TRS through a mini jack to jack TRS adapter into the preamp input yields no signal. The microphone is not faulty. Mic, mini jack, TRS > mini jack to jack, TRS > preamp Connecting a headset stereo input TRS cable through the adapter and I'm suddenly able to get a signal by talking into the headset drivers. I want to be able to connect the microphone to the preamp. What am I missing?
  4. Bought a Behringer MIC200 preamp. Awaiting delivery dates.
  5. I have the adapter, the microphones simply just doesn't output at line level. And yes, I'm using the input at the back, because that's the only input there is. I'm just looking for something that isn't shitty with decent quality and low noise and I think the Core 1 is it... just need to amp up the signal from the microphones to be able to connect to it now.
  6. Received the Core 1 earlier than expected. Good and bad news: Noise is very low volume Sound is clear and easy to understand It sounds very thin I think I need a microphone preamp. I was unable to hook up any microphones to the unit and get a signal. At first I thought it was DOA, but then I hooked the input up with the output of my Schiit stack (Magni+Modi). Suddenly the device was able to get a signal... it actually works https://soundcloud.com/frozhax/schiit-stack-alesis-core-1 https://soundcloud.com/frozhax/realtek-alc892-alesis-core-1 As I can't use any microphones yet before I get a preamp, here's a recording of a LinusTechTips video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DyUitTVWlw) recorded through the Core 1 with some pauses in between. Will report back again (unless I forget) when I'm able to connect a microphone.
  7. Also I asked Alesis about a datasheet for the Core 1 yesterday. I still haven't gotten a reply yet From this video it doesn't seem like it has any noise issues but it might just have been post production though... aaannddd it's on youtube.. sooo, meh quality Start at 2:03:
  8. I genuinly have no idea if this'll work and I ofc haven't tested it: Advanced settings on mine: https://i.imgur.com/obvNY59.png On your's: I think it's on the bottom right https://i.imgur.com/zYllGei.png Try checking the unchecked box: https://i.imgur.com/xMttKSe.png Once again, I have no idea if this'll work.
  9. Damn, even the onboard sounds better and has less noise Hopefully we'll soon find something better. BTW, the Core 1 is scheduled to arrive between the 19th and the 25th. I sincerely hope that it isn't as bad as the Terratec. EDIT: Got the mini jack to jack adapter today
  10. Nice find, looks promising. Can you share how you found it?
  11. Sounds like there doesn't seem to be many synchronization issues as you haven't mentioned them much. Thanks for your input
  12. It is indeed a shitty 2.1 system together with some decent headphones, however because everything but a portion of the bass is cut out (on the 2.1) I don't get to listen to those god awful satelites. Somehow the combination works, as I always felt like the bass punch on the HE-400 was quite lacking and this solves it with close to nothing/no interference with the clarity of the headphones plus I get to feel the kicks. You are completely right about it being a subpar system, which is also why I'm thinking about upgrading it. I'm just worried about the synchronization issues.
  13. Haven't looked too much into this, but will this work? http://www.amazon.com/TC-716-Stereo-Selector-BLACK-VERSION/dp/B0001F347K/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8 You'll probably have to buy one 3.5mm to RCA adapter set though if it works to be able to connect everything.
  14. This might be a bit complicated and you're going to have to do some research, but by doing it this way you can use the thousands of VST-plugins available for realtime adjustments. Your voice > Blue Yeti > Sound card input //From your mouth to the computer> VSTHost > A bunch of VST-plugins //Where we apply the realtime effects (EQ, compressor, noise gate and more)> VB-Audio cable input > VB-Audio cable output //Output into a virtual microphone in > Streaming software mic-input > Twitch > 1 million viewers //Audio from the virtual microphone input into the streaming software VSTHost: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm VB-Audio cable: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/
