  1. GTX 780 pulls 250W at peak with a maximum 9% additional power if overclocked. The I7-4790k pulls 84W at peak and that means full throttle. add in another 35 for the pump and 40 for fans+ system power, he didn't even break 450W let alone 550W.
  2. The H440 is too tall. I cannot fit cases larger than 18.6 inches tall. I'd rather avoid water cooling. I've had 3 H100I's, 2 H80's and a CM 240 all have their pumps fail for builds I've done within 1 year. The Bitfenix PSU is decent and I agree the G2 is just a great PSU. But that's adding an extra 100 bucks that I'd rather avoid. Also, since the case interior is white, I'd like black cables.
  3. I currently have an I7, would like to stay with the same power. Also I went with Bitfenix because of the sleeved cables. My friend has a Gigabyte R9-290 and it hits 95*C (Has the Windforce cooler) and they never fixed it. I use a single 290x right now. Also the corsair memory looks teh sexy.
  4. Thanks everyone. I figured out my build!
  5. Their higher end stuff is pretty spot on. I've used a few for builds even OC'ed to 4.5GHz on their Z77 platform no issues 2 years later.
  6. Put this into an Air 540 using all White LED fans and a shadow rock II cooler and dominator ram!!! AGHH the sexiness!!!
  7. I 100% agree. Yes his reviews are scripted but he writes his scripts not the manufacturers. I feel like I'm getting his true opinion on items. He does slam Fractal for hard foam and some of the stupid crap that Corsair tries to pull every now and then.
  8. Thanks I was about to say.

I am looking to cheapen it up a bit, and one way would be to buy memory which could save me a few dollars and maybe if I can find a small enough used GPU that could work too, but I'll have to work with sizing. EDIT: I will probably do this instead (getting a used 7950/280) PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Jsmxxr Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Jsmxxr/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($239.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V 86.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($49.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: Asus H97I-PLUS Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard ($109.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($77.99 @ Newegg) Storage: A-Data Premier Pro SP600 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($89.99 @ NCIX US) Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280 3GB Dual-X Video Card ($135.00) Case: Cooler Master Elite 130 Mini ITX Tower Case ($49.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.99 @ NCIX US) Total: $787.93 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-08-12 12:28 EDT-0400
  11. Hello everyone! So I am debating getting a 144Hz display for a hand full of games. I currently have a 27 inch IPS 1440P display which is great for real estate and makes games look amazing, but several games I play I can push more FPS but limited to 60 FPS. My questions is as follows: 1.) Can a single 290x push most games close to 144 FPS? I know Crysis 3 barely runs at 60 fps @ 1080p for me. 2.) Does getting a 24 inch really mess with the eyes when the other display is larger (27 inch) Thanks!
  12. u must have fat fingers I thought I did click the right section .you apologies!
  13. Hello all! My gf has a macbook pro and while it's solid (3629mq gtx 650m) it overheats gaming and she has quite a bit of steam games. So we were talking and she wants me to build her a mini it build. I live in the US and only buy from Newegg. Amazon charges taxes and with Newegg I get free shipping. My only demand is Intel based as she will be playing WoW in the next expansion and AMDs single threaded capabilities are nonexistent. I'm posting from a phone but my ideas was a 4690k on an Asus h97itx board since you can overclock on asus on any platform and an r9-270x mini inside of an elite 110. But I can't fit a 250gb ssd while keeping the roughly 800 dollar budget. Any suggestions?
